Rodrigo grinned and placed a hand to his chest, bowing in return and holding his bokken out to his side at arm's length.
"I know I am, but thank you. You are not bad yourself, I am just experienced in this sort of thing."

Kobushi nods, thinking he'll be nursing a few aching bruises until tomorrow. Then he notices the posture of the bow.
"Is that how you bow in your country?" he asks, mimicking the gesture. It's passable, but Rodrigo can probably see nuances in it that the Crane can't. "It's interesting."

"Ah, yes! Well...one of a few. That is more of a duelist's bow."
Rodrigo chuckled.
"That wasn't half bad, though. Place the hand more towards your opposite shoulder, though. Upper chest, right above your heart."

Kobushi tries again, applying the recommended corrections. It's a different form, and he's a little awkward at it. But he is evidently trying. He's also smiling as he does, clearly interested in this.

"Tell me about it, I'm still trying to get used to the sort of bow you do here. Perhaps we can give each-other lessons."
His tone was playful, though it did sound like a semi-serious suggestion.

"Well, if you need them, I can try. But I'm probably badly in need of a refresher course on etiquette myself," he answers, just in case the playful tone was just masking a request. "It wasn't exactly a priority where I was trained."

"I'm sure most of us would be willing to give you a little leniency since you just arrived here. Can't hold the amateur to the same standard as a professional, and all that," he answers. "And some Clans are less uptight about it. Like that ritual about refusing gifts? Yeah, Crab don't follow it if they can help it. I think some Unicorn ignore it too."
"Around most Crane, though? Yeah, be on your best behavior. But you're safe with me."
