"Well, I'm sorry if I annoyed you back then. Maybe that's one good reason we didn't meet more often when we were younger," she offers, accompanied by the sweetest smile she could muster. "I wouldn't go back there now, though. I have my audience right where I want her."
"And I agree, we'll find common ground. Other than the strange parallels of our lives. We just need to learn more about the things the other does or enjoys. I mean, I wouldn't mind trying my hand at more poetry if you asked."
She kisses Fuyu-chan on the offer of killing those who rejected her. "No, they were right. A singer with scars and can't go on tour is bad for business. I mean, you can kill them if they've broken the law, but no need to do that on my account."
She smiles, clings to the offered arm. She thinks of telling her girl of the events of the day. Of getting back in the dojo, of working back into fighting condition. Of pain and the carrying thereof. Of talking to Mirumoto Rey about fixing the damage done by the war to her body. About a little fox who probably needed Hisui's guidance more than her deft brushing hand. But not yet.
Tonight was about them, she reminded herself as they approached the gate. The rest of the world could wait. The limo was there waiting.
In a gesture perhaps incongruous with her attire, Hisui holds open the door. "My lady."

Fuyu frowns. "That came out harsher then intended. It was beautiful. It was just very hard to brood in the dark when someone was singing beautiful music."
Fuyu nods at the common ground comment. "We will find one, and until then we will just need to spend more and more time together learning. What a nightmare." she teases.
At the offer being politely refused she gives a defeated sigh. "I think they are still being foolish but if you insist. If any of them break the law though I will make sure to face them and will wear your token when I cut them down."
Fuyu bows as the door opens, not going to make a fuss of the gesture she gently slides into the car, scooting over to the other side so that Hisui could go in after her, gesturing to the seat next to her. "My lady."

She slips into the car, taking a spot so very close to her Fuyu. There was plenty of room, but she was deliberate in choosing a closer spot. Fuyuko was free to decide what to do with that, especially since Hisui just switched the divider on so the driver wouldn't hear or see what was going on between them.
"You? Brood in the dark? Perish the thought," she jests, hoping it was harmless. Then the expression shifts to sweetness. "But if you feel the need to do that again, tell me. You don't need to feel like you can't have time to yourself." A kiss on the lips, soft and chaste, save for that hint of tongue at the end. "Getting to know you. What a nightmare. How will I ever recover?"
She spots the sigh. She isn't sure how to read it, save for the Dark Doji having an itch to duel someone much like the occasional urge she felt to hop back into the saddle and cut off a few heads. Then her mental filter fails her. "One of your students called me old, so you can scold them if you think it warranted."
The limo begins its trip. The driver presumably knows where to go.

Fuyu siddles even closer, a sign of unashamed closeness, if they were hidden there was no reason for any shame at all. "Thoughts of perishing more like." she says with that strange little morbid smile she gets sometimes before the expression changes. "When I need time alone, and I will, I will take it. Don't worry. It's why I like to go to the Temples in the Morning." she says softly before she suddenly wrinkles her nose ."Did they now? Have they already been disciplined for disrespect?"

She nods, now understanding the temple habit. Hisui had grown up taught not to draw too much of the attention of the Fortunes. They were served best by those who needed them the least, her Moto cousins taught her. But now she knew not only that Fuyuko enjoyed her time alone, but she favored visits to the temples --- to Emma-O, no doubt --- to have such time. She made a note not to disturb such things unless invited.
"I'm sure Azerora-san did it by accident. I think he meant no disrespect. But as you are his sensei, I leave the act of discipline at your discretion."

Fuyu wrinkles her nose. "Ah... the Gajin student. I have no choice then but to punish him. But not too harshly. I think some laps might do. But if he meant no disrespect then he can be forgiven his youth." she says before shrugging. "I don't want him to think I am being easy on him for being Gaijin."

Hisui nods, accepting the judgment of the sensei. The Unicorn did not like being called old, even if it was an accident. And besides, it gave Fuyuko a chance to exercise her stern demeanor. It wasn't as if Rodrigo didn't get a boost on his quest to find a samurai wife thanks to Hisui's meddling. He owed her. Sort of.
"We talked briefly of Merenae before we were...interrupted." She doesn't mention what the interruption was. Fox tails were not the sort of thing that should be brought up on a date, she believes. "They don't think twice about women like us there, he said. He was shocked to find that what we have is frowned upon in Rokugan."

Fuyuko blinks and raises her brow. "Perhaps Merenae needs a new Magistrate and Singer?" she asks with a sad wistful sort of smile. "I still wonder what they will do with us as we come out but, you have done your duty and I have done all I can."

"Perhaps it does. I mean, I'm sure we could both use a proper vacation in the future, at least," she says, noting the sadness in the smile and wondering. "Rumors. Slander at the worst. Maybe even accusations of bringing shame to our Clans. But we've done every Duty given to us that we were capable of doing. All but our Duty to ourselves. And if I can't show Honesty in how I feel about you, how can I show it for anything else I do? And I've always felt it discourteous of me to have never felt romantic affection for my late husband."

Fuyuko shakes her head. "It will be dealt with. Anyone who wants to slander me does so at their own risk. We have done our Duty. We will continue to do our duty. And should our lords prohibit this, I will show my displeasure before his steps." she says resolutely before she blushes. "Sorry, talking about my demise makes me....excited. We should move to another topic."
