She takes a moment. It was a lot to process. A lot to accept. But she found herself willing to try. She keeps the hand, holds it tight. Discomfort was there, and it spoke volumes. But the grip was there too. A refusal to let go. A simple wish for the Doji to stay.
"I need time to...to really process this," she admits. "But I won't ask you to go. You belong here, the good and the bad."

Fuyu nods. "I met a boy in training. We became friends in secret. My parents were offended by his so to teach a lesson bribed a judge to put us against each other. They ordered me to kill him. So I did. The magistrates found out and ordered my parents to seppuku. They could find no second so I was ordered to do it. So I did. I am no longer an obedient weapon. Aunt and Uncle's love gave me more then that. But I understand if who I was disturbs you. Are you sure you...still want me?" She asks sadly. Timidly.

Fuyu squeeses her hand, fighting back tears in public she shields her face from the others with her fan, a genuine smile on her face. "Thank you." is all she says for a while, letting the moment sink in.

Hisui nods. She makes a polite motion with one hand, letting go and sipping some plum wine. To let Fuyuko pretend that she doesn't notice anything. With the other, she snaps open a fan she'd kept in her purse to provide a bit more privacy.
"Your past is behind you. But I am walking beside you."
She smiles and waits until the Doji can compose herself again, regain her On. Then, and only then, does she snap the fan closed and resume the meal.

Fuyu recovers quickly, the smile on her face again as she continues eating as well, thankful of the cover her love gave her. "I was...worried when I told you. I was.. in the past, not who I am today. But I am happy to walk besides you my love."

"I was worried, too. But you say it's your past, and I believe you. You wouldn't lie to me," she says, blunt and matter of fact. "I love you too."
She smiles, happy to see the controlled, recovered calm again. Time for a lighter topic.
"Speaking of the past, I had...well, an unexpected reminder of a bit of mine earlier," she says, trying not to let any lingering dread cause her to twitch. "I had no idea one of the Crane Clan students was a kitsune. Or that there were two in the Phoenix. You can probably imagine my reaction at having all three at my table during lunch."

Fuyu looks up then winces. "Oh? I... I know the one. She is Tarik-san's betrothed. I met her once and helped her shop for clothing and she helped me shop for Manga. Quite the shy one that one." The fan fwips out in front to block her mouth again. "I think she is like...us. In terms of preference."

Hisui coughs.
"Then I really do need to apologize, in case she misinterprets. And she's in both my classes."
She sighs.
"She was in fox form when I saw her. Had no idea who she was, but she looked hungry. So I offered some of my lunch. Before I knew it, my fingers were combing through her tail and she's...cooing about it." She shudders. "I stopped as soon as I realized, but then the Isawa twins came up and translated the sounds she was making. And very eagerly asked for more."
"I stopped before it got too far. But if she's anything like the fox women who were around when we were in school, she very likely found it an enjoyable experience." She gulps, nervous. "I'm sorry."

Fuyu cocks her head. "Brushing tail... is that.. is that a particularly sensitive area? And I mean look, you didn't do it on purpose, people pet animals all the time. I don't hold it against you just, let her know that it was not meant in that way. Though I think you owe me a brushing tonight in forgiveness." she says. "Poor little thing. Tarik has no idea what to do with her."
