The books on display are from several authors: Agatha Christie, Arthur Conan Doyle, Edgar Allan Poe, and even HP Lovecraft. All of them involve some element of mystery or the supernatural to fit the theme of the club.
As Tarik and Takezou stepped up Nade was busy talking with a student about the club, answering a few questions before he excused himself and went back into the crowd. She turned to the newcomers then, mainly Takezou.
"Preferred Sidekick status gets you a free sidekick outfit and first pick of mysteries to solve. It's a pretty plum gig to be honest. Highly sought after."

"What may I ask is the need of a sidekick outfit and what sort of mysteries are there to solve?" He muses looking at the Unicorns interesting choice in clothes.

"Well... if you're going to be my sidekick we need to match right? I mean I guess it's not necessary but being colour co-ordinated really seals the deal when you make a dramatic entrance. As for mysteries? Well I have it on good word that a fellow detective friend of mine solved the mystery of the ghost in the girls dorm and even exorcised it! Destroyed a bathroom in the process but she solved it! So things like murders, thefts, supernatural, occult... all that kind of stuff~"

"Yes I could see how we might want to match..." He begins before trailing off and shaking his head. "Wait I have not agreed to become anyone's sidekick. It does seem like this school does have a lot going on though" He says in regards to the story about the ghost. "Just yesterday I came across a spirit in the woods."

Nade slammed her hands down on the table and leans forward, almost getting into Takezou's personal space but not quite.
"There's a spirit? do tell me everything you know! Spare no details, even the smallest thing will help me deal with it."

He agreed with the Shinjo's views, but then again he wouldn't even try for the honor of preferred sidekick and thus just smiled. It was funny after all. The stories about ghosts and spirits gave him pause.
Is this for real?
He shrugged and reached for a cigar which he lit up, while continuing checking the books.

"Well I was out in the woods trying to meditate and I stopped some foxes. Turns out one happened to be a spirit it had two tales and could create fire. Also it did not seem to like me much." He says with a shrug. "I was also told there are other spirits in the woods but they are asleep and if they awaken they will go to Chikushudo."

Her notebook was instantly out as he started to speak, scribbling down every relevant and irrelevant bit of information Takezou had on the spirit he met.
"Well spirits tend to be temperamental, most of them have lingering regrets or curses which is why they exist on our plane instead of moving on to Tengoku or Yomi. I am glad that you are okay though, Kitsune spirits often tend to be tricksters and may even trick you to death."

That sounds like the Isawa twins.
He made a soft cough.
"Forgive me Horiuchi-san but you seem to have mixed up your lore a little. Spirits are not just that. Most of them are creatures from different planes of existence with alien agendas that roam this world for their own reasons. Those you mention are a small minority of them." He explained.
"The fox girls you encountered Shinjo-sama are actually spirits themselves of the kitsune variety. Their home realm is Chikusudo. They was probably telling you the truth." He added before bowing to the Shinjo.
"I am Tarik al-Menjari, happy to be of assistance."

"I am Shinjo Takezou." He says bowing. "Yes the twins were there though I was unaware they were spirits as well. There was also a third spirit that looked mostly like a fox, it mostly growled at me."
