Hinata frowned. Why was Koshiro so obviously lying? They were friends, surely they could be honest with each-other. Was he scared of something? Maybe. It could not hurt to ask.
"Koshiro-san...if something is wrong you can tell us. We are friends."
She gave Kobushi a nod, keeping her attention on Koshiro.

Mako blinked at Koshiro's confusion, and Hinata's concern, but! She did not interfere, as the newest among the friends, and instead scooted over towards Kobushi, "Iiiiif I asked you to get me a matcha~ wouuuuld that be too much trouble?" She smiles at the boy, happily. Perhaps standing a bit close.

Kobushi does not notice the closeness. Instead, he just smiles at the Otomo, as if oblivious to the proximity. "Not at all. Cold or hot?"

Koshiro looks to Kobushi and nods. "I would like a drink, yes please. Thank you." He looks to Hinata, glances over at Mako, then leans in to whisper to the Crab. "Is it okay for ronin to be friends with imperials? Like, do I begin being casual with her? Do I still bow? Not bow? Nod? And doesn't it look bad for her if I'm her friend? What does she get out of being friends with a ronin like me? Does this mean I have to dress better now? I can't afford trendy clothes or things like that. Am I her property now? Do we exchange numbers? How does this all work even?!"

Oh, so that was what confused him. Hinata could understand perfectly, she would have had much the same reaction when she met Yoshinobu if she had not struggled to keep appearances for her job. She whispered back in Koshiro's ear.
"It depends on how they wish to be treated. It is always best to treat them with utmost respect upon first meeting them, but once first impressions are made you must rely on intuition. It may look bad for her to be friends with you to some, but if that is a risk she wishes to take then let her. Besides, she seems friendly, so I would not worry overmuch. Just be yourself."
She stood back up and gave Koshiro a reassuring smile.

"Cold, please!" She beamed at Kobushi, and then looked over at the two conspirators being conspiratorial, and raised an eyebrow, leaning into Kobushi, "Is something wrong?" She asked innocently up at the Crane boy.

"Just be myself. Okay, sure. Yeah, I can do that." Koshiro nods. He looks over to Mako and gives her a smile and a thumbs-up. Which with his nasty look makes him seem terrifying.

He's about to answer, but then Koshiro speaks up and he decides not to say anything.
His brain does not quite process how pretty Mako is. Or that she's really much closer than she ought to be. It's processing what drink to get for himself and Koshiro, along with the cold macha Mako asked for.
Somehow, though, there is an inkling of an idea forming in the back of his head. An idea that says he does not want Mirumoto Ryuha to walk in and see this going on. Why he doesn't want her to see this, he doesn't know.
"I'll go get those drinks." He smiles.

Thanks to the magic of timey-wineyness, Kobushi would return mere moments before the last song of the concert was about to start, almost as if it were being held for him. "Well everyone, it seems we've got just enough time for one more song! So here we go~" Tsubasa starts tapping her foot along with a beat that slowly fades in as the Music starts to play through the speakers once more. The theme of the song is a bit different, obviously modeled on the actions of a certain couple in the audience. Today's a festival; everyone comes happilySweat flows and urges on our heartbeatsI can't wait, but I pretend not to notice you right awaythat hearing this song means I'll see you soon

Eventually it finishes, the Idol looking even more winded than after the second song. It takes a moment longer for her to catch her breath but soon she's back into her old chipper self as she steps to the edge of the stage once more and takes a seat with her legs dangling over the edge. "That's all for today folks~ If you want some free stuff there are t-shirts, cell phone cases, cell phone straps, lanyards and a few other bits and bobs from both my group and the unit I was a part of before. I think there's even a few single cds for those who want them." The t-shirts came in two flavours. One set had the name "Heavenly Wings" with a pair of stylized wings on each side. The other was more simplistic, showing a pair of fox spirits chasing each others tails in an endless circle. She tosses several waves into the crowd before motioning Hinata and crew over to the edge of the stage. Up close she's obviously a bit more out of stamina than she let up on stage, it didn't stop the sparkle in her eye but it left her breathing hard as a stagehand brought over a bottle of water for her to drink. "Kuni-san, it seems the group has grown since I last met you in Anime club. There's at least.. 3 or 4 new people here, are they all your friends?" |
