Momiko smiled a little, "...you would say that, of course. Takano-chan is right though; There's a lot I've hid from you. And I know we've danced around it before, I've just personally felt like it's made things strained sometimes. I mean, that and me feeling like you and I should be dating and I get that impression from you but I don't think I know what to do about that because I really don't know what it all means."
She let out a long breath, a smiling Takano patting her on the back, "I'm proud of you big sis, for getting that all out."

Yoshi isn't sure if Takano is being patronizing or sincerely supportive, but he's hopeful it's the latter.
"I don't know what it all means either," Yoshi replies, giving Momiko a helpless smile. "I'd just like it if we... figured it out together." He shrugs and picks at the remains of his salad.
"I told you before, though, you don't have to hide anything from me, good or bad," he reminds her sincerely.

"Well, yes. But what was I going to say? 'I was a genetically engineered clone'? 'I don't have a real mother or father because I was grown in a vat'? 'I fight crime at night in a cat suit'? 'By the by, how do you feel about hobbies aimed at six year olds'? Am I supposed to think that being honest extends to things like that?"
Takano's smile faded a little, but she did not interrupt Momiko.

"Sure," Yoshi says, letting out a little nervous laugh in relief to actually hear Momiko talking, rather than being verbally brow-beaten into silence. "I mean... just maybe not all at once?" He chuckles at his own joke as he feels a bit more of the tension ebb. Maybe it was just a momentary illusion, but he was willing to latch onto any sign that things were taking a turn for the better at this point.
"So... what hobby for six-year-olds?" he asks, smiling warmly at her. "Is it that pony show? And... were you joking about the fighting crime thing, referencing our movie?" He blushes as he realizes he thought of it as "their" movie, though the thrust of his casual questions is to let her know that, as far as he was concerned, they had established a level of trust and closeness where she could indeed talk about such things openly with him. He doesn't ask about the rest however, as he senses the topic of the origins of her birth might steer him back down the path of being at extreme odds with her mother's... or rather "mother's"... views on parenting.

"All that at once WAS a bit much I suppose, sorry. Your questions... no, it's not My Little Kirin, I prefer Kaijumon and super sentai comics. Yes I play around with being a super heroine; That's why I wanted to see the movie so bad. I... I'm sorry you needed to find out like this."
She smiled but fiddled with her salad.

Yoshi shakes his head, wordlessly dismissing her apology as unneeded. It was an unconventional way to find out all these things about her, and what he'd discovered about her mother so far, he did not like. However, getting to know Momiko better had been his entire intent behind coming to her house, so ultimately, he was succeeding.
"It's actually not a bad show," Yoshi says quietly to himself about My Little Kirin as he processes the rest of her reply. "Nothing wrong with liking Kaijumon or Super Sentai, though; they're classics, right? But... I wonder, how much do you... "play around"? Isn't fighting crime... isn't it dangerous?" Yoshi looks briefly to Takano and Mei, wondering how much of this they already knew. He would presume all of it, if Momiko was admitting it so readily in front of them, but it was difficult to imagine the latter woman actually allowing her daughter to go out in pursuit of criminals. Then he remembered she didn't consider Momiko her daughter, and it seemed that on a whim, she would make her the center of an "experiment". So, that was that answered at least.

Mei seemed to notice the look, "Yes, I am aware of her... hobby, Tamori-san. And I have no desire to expend time or resources to stop her. She is... an adult. And it would be hypocritical of me to deny her being my heir, while simultaneously going out of my way to baby her."
Momiko gave an embarrassed smile to Yoshi, "I'm careful, swear. I mostly just help find lost pets, get cats out of trees, and stop purse snatchers anyways. It's not like I go after murderers or mobsters... or stuff like that. Usually..."

How... did she notice me looking? Yoshi wonders about Mei, though not too hard in case she can read minds as well. He still spares a cold thought toward her apparently finding her time and resources more valuable than looking after Momiko's safety.
"I'll still worry about you," he tells her honestly, though the reasons for his worry went well beyond her superheroinism. That said, he also did note her use of "usually" at the end.

"I... I understand that."
She looked down and finished her salad before moving her soup in front of herself.

"Because I care about you," he adds for clarification; for all their clarification, in a voice slightly louder than conversationally necessary. "Not because I doubt you... or your strength." If at least the white haired woman at the table was any indication, he reasoned that Momiko wasn't all that used to someone caring about her rather than degrading and belittling her, so he wanted to be clear. Plus, he knew she had to be strong, to have endured such treatment from the woman she called "Mother" all her life.
He then also begins the soup course, wondering what he might learn next.
