"If I had used more than words, you wouldn't be," Saito assures her matter-of-factly. He sighs and moves away from the door, walking to the table where Yokohime is sitting. "Look... I do appreciate that you're making an effort to be better, and now that there are so few of our number remaining, it helps neither of us to continue sniping at one another. I won't change my opinion about your "father", but I'm willing to change mine of you, if you earn it. I would ask you to stop being quite so obtuse in return, but I suppose you can't change your nature so easily."

"Obtuse?" She was puzzled. "I want to do well and show that I can pass as a Ningen. I look like a child and well people treat me that way. My nature is one of trickery so I just follow along."

"Well... these gifts of yours may find their uses in time," Saito says, choosing not to follow the rabbit of defining "obtuse" to the girl down its hole. "As of this very moment, we as a Clan are somewhat adrift. Until we find our direction again, I suppose you might just keep your ear open for any interesting secrets, and please relay any to me that you find." Gathering information was their general mission before the more specific one had blown up in nearly everyone's face. What could it hurt to put the littlest Scorpion onto the task as well?

"I don't know if you have heard but there is a group of teachers that are trying to raise a boat from the bottom of the lake. I am included in that task being part of the crew of such vessel." Probably this wouldn't interest Saito but it is a good try.

"That's... better than nothing, certainly," Saito admits. His curiosity is barely piqued, but the fact remains that it is. "For what purpose are they raising the boat? Is it valuable salvage?"

"A favor to an old friend and it has some sentimental value. I guess if we do this we will have a very happy ronin." She smiled at the fact of making Kuneho and Koshiro happy.

"Charity outreach is always admiriable, I suppose," Saito says, huffing slightly. "Is it that ronin maintenance worker then? I only know of Umeko-san and him, the former of which is more interested by the land than the sea."

"It is the boy... a student and the son of one of my best friend... or former best friend... I don't know if she still considers me her friend or not." She thought. "He is part of the maintenance crew just like his adoptive mother was."

"More ancient history rearing its head," Saito says with disdain. "That seems to be a running theme."

"Oh talking about ancient things I am investigating the thing that happened in the Temples." She looked at Saito drinking her water. She hope that her assisting in that will bring more interest to the Shosuro.
