Hinata frowned, tapping her fingers on the floor. "Hm...well now we know how it broke, at least. Now then, to ask the kami why they could not hold it together..." Hinata placed both hands firmly on the pieces of the statue and closed her eyes, whispering to the kami within, attempting to summon them again so she could converse with them. (( Summoning 33 )) |

Nadeshiko looked down at the statue pieces, curious if any of the rough edges that Hinata's earth kami had left were there or if they had simply disappeared to leave the statue in the exact position they found it. Investigating: 47 |

Nadeshiko would notice the statues looked exactly as they had before, no remnants of the summoning of stone by Hinata remained. The pieces of the statues were identical to how they were when they came in.
Hinata was able to get a quick response from the kami inside the statue. Can I help you? they asked, tersely.

Right, the kami were grumpy. That was to be expected, they were of the earth. Still, the terseness meant they might give a straightforward answer.
"I am sorry to wake you. I wanted to ask you why you could not hold the statue together."

Hinata sighed. Well, that was all she was going to get. The kami had been so direct, too; she should have asked it if Goemon was dead. Oh well, nothing to be done for it now.
"Well, according to the kami, Fu Leng is behind this somehow. Before the third Day of Thunder, as well. It said over twenty years ago."
