"Well, if you don't mind something bulky, I know a guy who's selling a slightly older phone. The bottom half is a traditional keypad and it's a but thicker than most phones. No idea if it's any tougher than origami paper, though."

Perhaps that meant Akane simply felt like hanging out with a girl was a date. Kumataro being an exception to that rule obviously.

The first name is expected and stirs up no real reaction. The second one is wide-eyed shock. The third would have caused a drink to be spat all over Akane's face if Hisui happened to be drinking at the time. Then the next statement, about lunches and Aiko and things that counted or not.
Breathe in. Breathe out. Remember what she taught you. She had her reservations. If this was a restaurant, she'd have booked the entire place and the next one over. However, she put that iaijutsu training from lunch to good use.
"Actual 'pursue someone romantically' date or 'just hanging out being friendly' date?" she asks, almost desperate for a specific answer.

"The second one is less likely to get you fired if anyone in administration finds out," she says, citing the only practical difference she could think of at the time. "But knowing Mako-chan, it's the first one. I can guess she counts you among her girlfriends already."
She breathes deep. Clears her mind of all emotions, all the dark memories. She taps into those fresh lessons on the basics of iaijutsu. All in an effort remain calm, to avoid panic. It takes…a little longer than intended.
"Tell me. Tell me they made the first move." She will not see her friend as a predator. She will not. "Tell me you didn't go after my little sister and Aiko-chan's protege."

That gets a brow furrow, "Your... little sister and Aiko-chan's protoge? What are you talking about? And yeah, they asked me to lunch and stuff. I know I gotta treat students like students unless they wanna open up to me on their own."
