The Crane looked over to Uetani as he leaned back in his chair. "Oni," Meta said with a rather casual and honest tone, so much so it's hard to tell if he's joking or not. Considering the reason for the Crane and Crab's alliance in current years, it puts it closer to truth.
"Save your condolences for someone else," he said in reply to Fuyuko, "I am fine with it."

Fuyu cocks her head. "I see. Then for you it is a blessing." she says before she looks to Uetani, frowning slightly. "Duty to the Empire is universal. If ones duty is to slay such monsters, that is good. If ones duty is keeping the local law, then that is also good."

Meta offered nothing but a silent stare to their words, opting instead to glance over to his daughter whom had been quietly listening. "I need to speak with my daughter. Drink, leave, do whatever until I am done with her," He said in dour tone, motioning to where Tsuki was currently sitting.

Meta offers a short bow and waits until the two leave. Without a word he moved from his desk and sat beside Tsuki, bringing the tea she had made along with him. For a brief time he seemed to relax and with the look that only a father could give a child they love, he began to ask about how school was going.
