Tucked away on the outskirts of Toshi Ranbo's restaurant district, there was a small family-owned restaurant called the Gilded Lily, which served down-home cooking straight from the province of the Monkey Clan. It was a long-time favorite of Bayushi Makubesu, who had taught many of its Toku staff who were fortunate enough to attend RHS in his many years there. This familiar place was where he elected to gather those of his family who were here in the city to meet those who were visiting from Scorpion lands where he usualy resided, being able to act as a member of the RHS board mostly from afar. Invitations and directions were sent by text to Doji Fuyuko and Bayushi Yokohime , the former of whom would be bringing Utaku Hisui and Kakita Uetani along with her. For his own part, Makubesu had brought his wife, Bayushi Masako, and near-gempukku son, Bayushi Sanro, so named because he was the third-eldest boy, though Makubesu's eldest was deceased, and his next eldest, while not his own by birth, had been adopted by him upon his marriage to the boy's mother. Fuyuko arrives first, she did want to scout ahead so she made sure she would get there before her wife and daughter. After all, she wanted to be sure there would be no unpleasant surprises. She was wearing a simple black dress with a tiny hat, a blue parasol and eye-patch, keeping to the style her father would know she preferred. The purple fan might be new however, as would the smile as she wore, tight lipped but present as she stepped in and looked around to see if she could spot her family.

Not wanting to be late and give a bad impression, Hisui arrives not long after Fuyuko does. Unlike the kimono earlier in the day, she changed into something that she felt closer to herself. She showed up dressed to impress, perhaps as a show of force. Or to show that, at the very least, Fuyuko found a beautiful woman to stand by her side. She carried the Crane blue fan and wore the ring with pride as she entered. Once inside, she scanned for a familiar face. Either Fuyuko or the chaotic Scorpion that was her uncle.

Uetani also hurried to not be late, wishing to make a good first impression on this man that would be her uncle. She has worn Scorpion colours, in his honour, and holds a parasol, as her mother often does. When she enters, she moves to whichever side Hisui is not occupying, and bows low to each of the people present, not wishing to interrupt. She is perhaps, a little too demure, for anyone that knows her well.

Yokohime arrived as the direction were very clear on where she had to go. Seems she was the only one in a pseudo traditional kimono in her favorite colors. The former Moshi greeted the present quite bit coldly. "Konichiwa mina sama." It has been a while since she had had any physical human contact. But probably her father and brother will fix that.

“Ah, there is my dark daughter,” Makubesu says, embracing Fuyuko as she arrived first. There was something emotional catching in his bombastic voice that only those closest to him would notice. Perhaps it was the new smile Fuyuko wore, or perhaps it was something more.
“My word, how could I forget so lovely a face as she brings with her?” he says, bowing to Hisui. “Maybe it’s because it was so often obscured by proper practice headgear. Learned our lesson the hard way there, didn’t we, Fuyu-chan? Nonetheless, it warms my heart that my two favorite sparring partners, at least those whom I had the misfortune to avoid marrying, are now together, intent upon doing so with each other!” He beams at the Utaku with delight, though leans in to both her and Fuyuko to stage-whisper.
“I can safely say you two are my favorite non-matrimonial sparring partners because dear Aiko-chan is absent,” he explains. “Though, I could well imagine the three of you taking each other on with Fuyu-chan in my stead, just as we used to go at each other all those years ago.” He gives Hisui a wink, then turns to Uetani.
“And this must be your own intended daughter?” he says, bowing to the Kakita. “I would say you are a bit overdressed for such a down-home restaurant as this, but given the number of women who have found themselves feeling the opposite in my presence... eventually... I shall rather commend your planning ahead.” He gives her a nod before finally turning to Yokohime, who receives a similar embrace to Fuyuko’s.
“Finally, my daughter of the sea,” he says, kissing her forehead unabashed after the hug. “You know how hard it is for me to let you swim along on your own, but despite my overprotectiveness and a few missteps of your own that can be forgiven by your lacking legs at times, you have proven yourself capable. Please don’t forget that.” After releasing her, he addresses everyone.
“Please, please, sit down and order whatever you like!” he tells them. “I’m billing it all to the school.”

Nonetheless, it warms my heart that my two favorite sparring partners, at least those whom I had the misfortune to avoid marrying, are now together, intent upon doing so with each other!” Hisui bows, lower than she should. The little smile probably helps make it seem less formal than that. "It's been a little too long, sensei. And yes, I can safely confirm she's learned her lesson about proper headgear," she says, smiling as she recalls that date in the dojo. "And it's alright if you barely recall my face. I'm used to it. She didn't remember me either, really." “I can safely say you two are my favorite non-matrimonial sparring partners because dear Aiko-chan is absent,” he explains. “Though, I could well imagine the three of you taking each other on with Fuyu-chan in my stead, just as we used to go at each other all those years ago.” She laughs as she takes a seat. "That would be a sight, wouldn't it? And…well, I wouldn't be opposed to taking on my best friend with my last love by my side." She looks to Fuyuko, making no effort to hide the affection in her eyes. She doesn't say anything, though. She doesn't know yet how Masako might react. Hisui also gives Yoko a bright smile and little wave, but otherwise doesn't meddle in the father-daughter moment.

Yoko followed the instructions even if she didn't want to let go of her father. Once again the poor girl had her heart broken and well seems like she is cursed. The girl seated next to Makubesu not saying much. She just wanted to hold his hand for reassurance that everything would be alright.

Uetani, likewise bows deep to Mak
"Grandfather" she takes the chance "I promise you one thing, and that is that you will never find me under dressed!"
She lets the others make their introductions and re-acquaintances. She is not familiar with Yoko, but she recognizes the look of a broken heart, and gives a quick look of sympathy

"Oh, that's terribly romantic, but I would caution you against thinking any love will be your "last", Hisui-san... if I may call you that?" Makubesu replies to her. Considering what she was doing to effectively his daugther, which he had considered as soon as he saw her and could picture it properly, it was probably not too great liberty to take in return. "We're never too young and foolish to think all chances at love have passed us by and never too old to be wrong." He smiles at Masako as he sits next to his wife, shooing Sanro further away so that Yokohime could sit on his other side, holding her hand as she does.
"See, look who's calling me "Grandfather" already?" he says with a nod to Uetani. "I know it's mathematically possible, but please give me a little time to get used to someone your age calling me that. Our oldest boy's children are barely starting preschool." He gives a comically disappointed frown at the currently-Kakita's statement about never being underdressed in front of him, with a twinkle that in his eye that suggests he was deliberately not hearing the "der" part of that word at all.
