Satoru nods lightly, but his demeanor is still like that of prey analyzing a predator. His eyes then quickly avert to his belongings as he considers what to do next.
"Thank you, Mirumoto-sensei. My sets are nearly complete I...usually practice every morning. I will be more considerate of others in the future."
Honestly, if he did end up with a dick of a roommate like that, he could easily live off campus. Still, this wasn't the time nor place to bring that up.

Ichiro looks at the teacher with a bit more respect in his eyes "Thank you Mirumoto sensei, I appreciate it greatly" he pauses slightly, some of his old awkwardness setting in "I actually do plan on joining the kendo team this year, I've practiced all summer to perfect my form, I leave a lot to be desired but believe I have made progress." He bows to the teacher once more before grabbing his practice blade and starting to run through his forms.

The Mirumoto moves around the Akodo, correcting his stance with pointed observations as she does so. After all, this is her area of expertise and if he's wanting to join her Kendo team, he's going to need to shape up to her standards. While she does so, she glances at the Crane.
"And what about you, Daidoji-san? Kendo? Or do you favor the yari or a polearm like some of your clansmen?"

Ichiro took the pointers graciously attempting to adjust his form having moderate success. Much like his hand to hand work his blade had tons of power and force behind it and the style he was practicing was one of all out attack with little regard for defending one self.

"Matsu trained, Ichiro-san?" Aiko asks, noticing the emphasis on attack.

"Yes mirumoto-sensei, trained partially with the Akodo school but recently switched over to the Matsu." He says as he finishes a form.

"I favor the blade," he admits. He is practicing with a piece of wood at the moment, but he never kept the Kakita blade he was given far from his side. He didn't want to be caught swinging a lethal weapon around before classes even started.
He continued to practice while the Mirumoto examined the other student's movements. He considered both Kenjutsu and Iajutsu as classes he'd gladly take, but he wanted to make sure he could fit in everything he was interested in studying along with the classes his father willed him to take.
He tried to focus on the positives. Maybe if he did well enough in classes such as Kenjutsu and Iajutsu they'd steal him away from classes like Economics and History.

"Shows in your form. Your strikes are still a little sloppy, but you'll learn," Aiko says to the young Akodo, reassuringly, "After all, not even Matsu herself was a master the moment she picked up a blade for the first time."
She turns her attention to the Daidoji, watching his form as well, crossing her arms and watching his stance. This time, she seems a little more focused, again offering corrections that seem a lot more pointed than with the Akodo, as if for some reason expecting more out of the Crane.

Despite the rocky start to their meeting, Satoru seemed to be very responsive to Mirumoto-sensei's guidance. She didn't need to be critical with him when he did half the work. Always striving to improve, and knowing full well it'll take years of practice and the guidance of others to make it happen.
Some say he doesn't ask enough questions however. Due to his silent obedience he often had trouble getting over bad habits and forgetting that they're there.

Ichiro noticed the more intense critque of the crane student a moment he paused watching. She seemed almost more invested in him, Ichiro felt his hands tighten and could feel annoyance building in his chest.
"You know Mirumoto-sensei you don't have to sugar coat my feed back. Just because my style is less traditional doesn't mean I don't want to be the best out there." The words flowed hotly from his mouth before his brain caught up as they left his lips he looked to the ground obviously embarrassed.
"Apologies sensei I spoke out of turn. It won't happen again."
