Daidoji Satoru entered the dojo with his head held high, surveying the space as he adjusted the strap of his equipment. Perfect. It was quiet save for the echoing of his footsteps. The place was spotless and pristine, as if built from the ground up exclusively for a humble soul such as himself. He nearly wanted to leave it in peace, but his joints itched to move, his heart beating for the thrill of a peaceful session all his own. To be the first to train here this year. He felt deeply honored.
He set his bag down, followed the proper rituals, took every step with the care his ancestors exercised. He even dressed the part, his modern skin shed for the practical attire favored over generations.
Ten minutes later and he hasn’t broken a sweat. The world around him is muted as he falls attuned to his practice. Soon there will be many distractions. Soon there would be nothing but noise and stress. He was hardly looking forward to it.

Ichiro wandered into the dojo area eager to return to the school and actually have a reason to use the dojo. He quite like the way he felt moving in his body after months of intense training turning his unused muscles taunt and powerful, his body dropped all of its extra weight leaving him lithe and muscular. He stepped on the training area and observed the customs (though a bit sloppily if we're being honest). He noticed another student already engaged in practice seemingly here for a while and selected a space a respectful distance away and run through his forms he always preferred to practice in more modern work out clothes a pair of athletic sweat pants and a tight spandex work out shirt.
He runs through his hand to hand forms his movements strong and hard but lack discipline. His strikes obviously powerful but what he gains in strength he loses in defense, many of his moves leaving him open for counter attacks if he had an opponent. He was clearly practiced he continued flowing from one form to another.

Normally, it would be quiet in the dojo this early in the morning, especially on the day when students would be moving into their dorms at this period, so Aiko had planned on having a chance to get in early and make sure the place was in good shape and, if she had time, maybe squeeze in a bit of time working through a set of routines with her blades. Imagine her surprise when she finds students here, working out instead of moving in. She sighs inwardly, the Dragon wearing a white sport top that leaves her heavily tattooed arms bare and green sweatpants.
She clears her throat, "Pardon, Crane-sama, Lion-sama. I did not realize that students were going to be here at this hour. I would have thoughtyou would have been busy moving into the dorms."

The Daidoji liked the Lion. He didn't interrupt.
Honestly, had he not heard the shuffling of a different set of feet to his own he might not have noticed the Akodo. In brief moments he did discreetly observe the other until he realized that the other guest was not practicing with blades and quickly lost interest. Not that Satoru did not possess the skill for it, but hand to hand combat involved more contact than he was willing to put up with.
He does not answer the Mirumoto right away, trying to tie up the exercise at a good point before dropping his stance and regarding the Dragon.
"Have you?" Because by the look of it, she couldn't have. Not unless she set the room up previously. "I'm giving my roommate first choice of space. I'm rarely going to be in, so it is only fair."

The Mirumoto nods a little, "Hai. I had indeed. Because even if you plan on not spending much time in the room, it is still wise to make sure you and your roommate are communicating these things, because otherwise, he might assume he wound up in a room with no roommate and leave no room for you when you are there. I do imagine that would make your life rather more interesting, would it not, Crane-sama?"
She notes the lack of honorifics and proper address from the Crane, faintly amused by it. She folds her arms, "Anyway, this one is Mirumoto Aiko, one of the sensei here."

Ichiro dropped his stance at the new comer's appearance and observed the interaction between her and the crane. After the dragon's introduction he bowed "well met Mirumoto-sensei, this one is Akodo Ichiro." He said with a smile "I was planning on moving in after a quick practice. I always like to start my day with some type of workout,

"Mm. I suppose that is fair enough, Akodo-san. But I would have preferred if you had cleared it with a sensei first. We have incidents in the past where unsupervised sparring in the dojo has led to duels and other unfortunate outcomes, and needless to say, the school year goes a lot smoother when we don't have to explain to a parent why their child is being forced to come home before classes even start," Aiko says, making it apparent that this is not just her being a spoilsport.

Ichiro bowed again this time deeper, "I apologize Mirumoto-sensei I didn't think about it honestly" an apoloetic smile on his lips as he straightened himself and ruffled his hair "do you mind if I run through my blade forms real quick before I head off to meet my new roommate?"

When the Mirumoto mentioned that she was one of the sensei here, it took a strong exercise of will not to betray the embarrassment that stung him. He wouldn't have used those words exactly if he had known any better. He bows to her after the introduction, perhaps on the hasty side.
"This one is Daidoji Satoru. My sincerest apologies for the shortness of my response." She also kind of had a good point, but he often neglected to butter others up by stating gratitude for such wisdom or whatever.
"I can clean up and clear out as soon as possible," he added after her stern warnings.
What an embarrassing way to start the year...this wasn't going to bode very well, was it?

Aiko looks at the two, then sighs, smiling wryly, "I suppose I shouldn't get too cross at the two of you, as you were just seeking to improve your form and ready yourself for the year. Tell you what. I'll supervise a little while and let you two finish your sets, and Daidoji-san, if you have trouble with your roommate, just let him know a sensei held you up. I'm sure he'll be understanding after that. After all, your tardiness is hardly your fault if you were unavoidably detained by a teacher wishing to administer a lesson."
The Mirumoto bows to the two of them, "And call me selfish, but I am always looking for students for the kendo team."
