She nods.
"She had a crush on Fuyuko early on, but she's not going to act on it anymore," she says. Her smile is still there, hinting at her trust in the Otomo. "Like how she's not going to pursue her feelings for me."

Akane nods a tiny bit, "Hai. Well, she's a very wise girl. At least I think so. So it seems like she musta decided some things were for the best. A lot faster than me too."

"No, I'd say you understood faster than she did. There was a stretch of about four days where she wouldn't talk to me at all because of it. But we reconciled eventually." A pause. "I'm glad she found you, you know. I worry about a lot of things, but I know I don't have to worry about you treating her the way she deserves. And vice-versa."

Akane's eyes were half closed, feet no longer kicking as she simply let herself feel safe and accepted and relaxed.

"Oh, I do. It took me a bit to think on it once I got past the panic. But I can see it. I can see the two of you working out in the long run." She smiles and delicately begins to pet the head on her lap. "There's so much of both of you to love, and you both would understand and accept the other for who they are. Something I'd never be able to do for either of you."

"I'm sure not everything," she says, noting how tired Akane sounds. "I was wrong about a lot of things when I was younger. I just look at things and try to guess where they're going. But I know I'm right about you being one of the best people I have ever met, and you deserve someone who can give you all of that back without reservation."
"I do love you, Akane-chan. Just not the way you love me. And I…I hope that's good enough?"
