Ryoko adopted a centered stance as she addressed the target down range from her, her yumi held up proud and an arrow notched against the drawstring. The small Phoenix girl began to breath in and out slowly as if remembering a lesson she'd received. Her mahogany eyes open as she looses the arrow. By all indications, the shot should have struck true, and yet at the last moment gravity (or perhaps something more fickle) begins to draw the arrow downward. It ends up barely striking the target at all, causing the Asako to grumble to herself.

Otomo Katsumi observed the archers as they took their shots. Her eyes narrowed ever so slightly at the Asako. That was curious enough... She holds up her hand and motions to the Asako Ryoko. "This is unconventional but Asako-San would you be so kind as to perform another demonstration." She folds her arms across her chest and observes the girl very closely.

Ryoko nods to Katsumi-sensei and addresses the target again. As she takes her stance, however, the girl steps on the hem of her hakama and begins to fall toward the ground!!! As she does so, she looses the arrow which immediately goes flying toward the target, striking it dead center! 36For the Phoenix's part she blushes, unaware of what just happened with the shot, instead prostrating herself before Kasumi-sensei! "Gomenasai, sensei!"

Otomo Katsumi folds her hands together studying the kneeling child before her. I rarely believe in coincidences She smiles at the girl and shakes her head. "There is no need to apologize Asako-San. There is no need for you to prostrate yourself before me. Honestly you'll make me blush." She places her hand on her cheek and sighs. Before turning to the rest of the class. She claps her hands. "Everyone back to your practice. The show is over." She steps back to continue watching the students take practice shots. Aiding where needed. So then who is the best student here.

Ichiro looks on puzzled by the display in class, it's like the kami are messing with the girl no one makes a shot like that while falling its simply not probable. Ichiro shook his head, I guess thats the sort of thing that entertains the great kami. Ichiro muses in his own head while he practices with the bow preping arrow after arrow. Notch, aim, draw, loose again and again not rapidly simply steadily his usual jovial grin is replaced with a look of intense focus. He harnessed the same inner focus that he has used during training for the blade falling into a rhythm allowing his body to take over, his mind taking a back seat lulling into a cadence. This allowed him to ignore his various pains the soreness in his shoulder from the unfamiliar repetitive movement, his fingers from the constant rubbing of the bow string. Ichiro hit the target again and again with varying degrees of success, he was certainly not so skilled with the bow as he was the blade but some of his memories were coming back with his history of the bow. ( 15, 21, 18).

Satisfied that she had studied the stance enough, Ryouko finally moved to take a shot. She carefully placed her arrow on the string, positioning herself in the correct way, before pulling the string up to her jaw. The Unicorn knew bows were hard to pull, but she was still slightly taken aback by how much resistance the string offered. She certainly wouldn't be able to keep it pulled back all the way for very long. As she tried to aim, her arm began shaking slightly from the effort, combined with her tiredness. The girl was quite shocked to see the arrow hit the target. Quite far from the center, obviously, but still. She'd expected to either whiff by a mile or for the piece of wood to stab the ground. "Huh." She said, looking down at the bow in her hand. A ghost of a smile flickered on her lips. That was more fun then she had expected. It was quite relaxing, in fact. She raised her head, looking around. The area was mostly quiet, with the students concentrating on their own shots. The only sound what the occasional THUMP of the arrows as they hit their targets. Ryouko reached for an other arrow, taking her stance again. [ First shot with a bow: 3d10k3 23]

They have skill that's for sure. For first timers they make excellent shots. The Unicorn has yet to make a move. Otomo Katsumi closes her eyes and looks up to the sky. She steps towards Asako Ryoko, Akodo Ichiro, and Utaku Ryouko. "You three have shown good skills. Would you like an attempt at different arrows or would you like more practice with the current one's?" Of course the most interesting one so far is this Asako. I'd rather study her a bit closer.

Ichiro shakes out of his training trance when he hears the sensei approach. "I'm always ready to try new things Otomo-sensei." Ichiro says with cheerily his grin back on his face as he finds himself enjoying the practice with the bow much more than he had expected to.

Ryouko shook her head slightly. "Thank you, sensei, but with all due respect, I think that might have been a fluke shot." She said with a hint of a smirk. "I would prefer to familiarize myself with one type of arrow before moving to the next."
She bowed to the Imperial, before turning back to the targets, preparing her next shot. This time, as would be expected of a beginner like herself, the arrow planted itself in the ground, a few inches short of the target. The battle maiden nodded absently to herself, before calmly picking up a new arrow.

Ryoko got to her feet before lining up to take more shots at the targets. When the other Ryouko's arrow was short she paused then moved over to the Battle Maiden, offering a bow while waiting to be addressed.
