The Utaku's eyes didn't waver from her target, even though she could see the pheonix from the corner of her eyes. She held her bow steady, this time taking a moment to fully center herself. She held her breathing steady, releasing the arrow in between two breaths. The arrow flew true, slamming with a lot THUMP into the target. While it wasn't anywhere near the center, she was quite satisfied with this shot. [ 3rd shot with a bow (center stance): 4d10k4 25] Her attention turned to the other girl. "Asako-san, was it?" She bowed her head. "A pleasure."

Ryoko saw the shot hit the target this time and the little Phoenix just smiled, then bowed to the Utaku. "Who were you before you were given a name?" Wait, what? "Hai, this one is Asako Ryoko. Utaku Ryouko-sempai, I wanted to give you some advice on taking and choosing your shots but..." Her eyes nod downfield, smiling, "It looks like you are a quick learner!"
(OOC: Btw, you add your Void ring to the total for Center stance, so if you have Void 4 [for example] that's a 29.)

"I was the Void." She said, before blinking. Wait, what? "No, please, I would listen to any advise you can offer. While I might be good at copying, I doubt my technique would hold in a real combat situation."

Utaku Hitomi walks up to her fellow battle maiden. "Yes you are a very good shot Utaku-Senpai." She giggles she finally got to call someone Senpai. It felt good. "Ummm though... I've never fired an arrow not on horseback sooo..." She holds up her Dai-Kyu. "I'm not sure how to use this." She turns to the Asako. "Ummm you don't know if there is way I can fire this not on horseback is there?"

Ryoko motions Hitomi closer while she begins to help Ryouko with her shots.
"Utaku Hitomi-san, you might want want to try a yumi instead of a dai-kyu. Yumi are better for being fired on foot while a dai-kyu is meant to be used from horseback." Then to Ryoko the little Phoenix just smiles, "You just answered what I was going to tell you. Be the Void, Utaku Ryouko-senpai. Center yourself and let the Void guide your arrow."

Utaku Hitomi blinks and looks down at her prized Dai-Kyu. "I suppose you are correct." she says somewhat wistfully. She replaces the Dai-Kyu with a regular Yumi and for a moment to get her barrings straight she picks up a Willow leaf.Examining it for a moment the young woman takes her mark and prepares her arrow. Practice shot (center stance) (27+2=29) the shot hits it's mark though she frowns somewhat. "It's very different from what I'm used to." she twangs the bow a few times getting a feel for it.

"I don't have any experience with a dai-kyu other than knowing they're meant for horseback. But maybe Katsumi-sensei can give you some advice if you're determined to use it over a yumi on foot?"

"It would require more strength then I have to use." Otomo Katsumi interjects stepping forward. "I have seen it done. However I would call it impractical on foot." She looks to the girl and sighs. "That is by no means to insult the weapon of course. It has it's advantages certainly more strength then the Yumi. Whatever it hit it'll hurt I can assure you of that."
