He had remained mostly silent, letting the others give their thoughts. It was an interesting question, Bai thought to himself. In truth, no side was wrong. There is no good answer here, it is the tragedy that has faced countless tragic heroes. He had never enjoyed thinking on such dark matters, because he felt he couldn't give a truthful answer. But the Kakita was correct, it was just as wrong to not weigh in just because one can not be sure of how they will act in the future.
"...Is it not the greatest service to one's lord to restore them to honor? Indeed, as Asako-san pointed out, the Tao says it is better to die good than to live poorly. So, I think, indeed, the best path would be to show their lord the proper way. If my life was the price to pay to restore my lord's faith in Bushido, then I suppose I would have to pay it. But I feel that the ultimate righteousness would come when one's lord realizes their errors." Bai is nervous throughout his speech, but he tries to keep it out of his voice, mostly successfully. This is the only answer he could possibly give, so it cannot be wrong.

Ryouko turned in her chair, glancing toward the Pheonix. She tilted her head slightly at his word, a silent nod of appreciation for them.

Takezou leans his head against his arm using it as a kickstand. He is content to listen to the others argue.

Hmmm an interesting point. Now then I think we move onto the next game. Otomo Katsumi finishes typing a few things into her phone. "So this has been brought up a lot in this discussion. It is easy to say what you think you will do but unsure of until the time has come." She shrugs her shoulders and circles around to the front of her desk. "Kakita Isao and Mirumoto Sakura if you two would come to the front of the class for me please." She offers them a friendly smile. "I promise neither of you are in trouble."

The Crane blinked.
"Huh?"
He looked to Katsumi before realization kicked. "Oh! Hai! Moving, Sensei!" The First Year stood up and warily appeoached the front of the class all the while regarding Sakura, moderately confused.

Utaku Hitomi had gotten lost in the intense discussion. Her own feelings felt so simple she had wanted to say something but... hesitated not sure how to handle the debate. When the teacher called up Kakita Isao a man she had come to view as a friend... maybe kind of cute. She flushed bright red at that thought for a moment. Called to the front of class she found herself far more interested in what the teacher had in mind

Yoshi gives Sakura an encouraging nod, along with a tiny smile, happy for his clan mate that the sensei has noticed her and wished to acknowledge her in some way. He was very proud of his own metaphor and attempt at moderating, as well as the elder Utaku in class referencing those efforts when she spoke, but he didn't feel he'd contributed enough to warrant the sensei's attention as Sakura had.
He also notices the Utaku blushing in her corner of the classroom as the Kakita approached the front; the shy ones tended to notice each other, even if they didn't have the courage to share this information with one another. He tries to give her a reassuring look, if she'd even look his way, to let her know that she was unlikely to get called to the front, having completely misread the reason for her blush.

Sakura makes her way forward, sighing inwardly. Don't you say anything...

Otomo Katsumi grins as she has her two students in front of her. "Well now you two have been arguing the opposite points of one another. Indeed leading to some very interesting back and forth between you two." She clasps her hands together. "But the main argument has been whether or not you can know how you will react in the heat of the moment. So here we stand now in the heat of the moment. You think he is wrong he thinks you are wrong. A disagreement between two samurai. How would you two go about solving this dispute in the heat of the moment while still following to the tenets of Bushido." She returns to the seat of the desk. "It is Duty and Honor that you must pass this class. Remembering that and remembering that in theory only one of you two can be right." She leans back in her seat.

Yoshi inwardly laments the teacher's new instructions. The sensei had either ignored or deemed incorrect his assertion that Sakura and Isao weren't actually disagreeing with one another. His shoulders sink in defeat as he listens for whatever comes next.
