As he has done every day in the previous two years, Yoruga started his day with a visit to the temple. He greeted he monks that tended it by name before paying his respects at the various fortunes. It would take a while. He liked the familiarity of the routine. It allowed him to clean his mind. His grandfather has yet to make his presence felt today. That was usually a good sign. He smilled as he thought of Mochihime and headed to the shrine of Benten. He knelt, lit up the sticks and the herbs he had brought with him and closed his eyes to pray.

Hinata felt the need to pray today. Not because she was upset, quite the opposite. She wanted to thank the ancestors, the kami, and the fortunes for the good luck she had. Well, all except one ancestor: the one in her head.
That could wait, however. The crown prince himself had sent her a token of his affections, and what a beautiful token it was! She noticed Yoruga praying, but did not interrupt. Instead she knelt and began her own prayer ritual.

Benten was followed by Tenjin, who was followed by Emma-o, Jurojin, Osano-Wo and so on... yeah that took him a while. He only noticed the Kuni when he made his way to the garden of the temple. He was unsure if she wanted company thus he just stared at her for a little before going to his favorite stand and chilling.

Ugh, it's too early for this...
Bayushi Chiyo barely got any sleep the night before and she was considering sleeping in had she not been summoned to this miserable place by Yoruga. I don't know what he's giving me but it better be worth it, she thought to herself. She considered skipping the first class of the day, but without a third later on, maybe she could just take an afternoon nap instead.
It was a rainy morning, cold and unpleasant. Chiyo had a lovely parasol poised above her that caught some of the water. She always favored cute over practical, which was something she now began to regret. When she finally arrived at the temple, she found that Yoruga was not alone. It was that Crab chick who was dating the Spider...or...wait, yeah that's right. She smirked but tried to focus on the other Bayushi. She's the same Kuni who got a little something pretty this morning. She saw it on her way out. No way that came from that scruffy Spider kid.
She made her way towards the temple garden and by extension, Yoruga.
"Yo," she says, trying to imitate his typical tone of voice.

"Blessings upon you and yours, cousin." He replied, not in his typical tone of voice. Chiyo would notice that he was not his usual self. He stood more upright and mumbled less.
"Apologies for bring you here in this fool weather. I did not think to check the broadcast when we set the meeting." He said and bowed to her.
He opened his pack and got some folders out. Each bore the mon of the clans Chiyo was assigned to.

“Blessings to you too, Yoruga-san,” she says with a hint of sarcasm as she takes the folders from him. Not so much sarcasm though as...well, a general confusion. He’s being extremely formal to her all of a sudden. It’s weird. Did someone put him up to this? Or was this shrine behavior? Shugenja are so weird.
She tllted her parasol over him slightly. “Er, don’t worry about it. So...do you have any idea what Nomen-san is up to?”

Meeting? Had she heard that right? Had she stumbled on to something clandestine? No, nobody would be stupid enough to hold a secret meeting in the temple, especially in the morning. Still, it might be an interesting listen.
Hinata kept her eyes closed, still appearing to be in prayer. She did not want to let them know she was eavesdropping.

He nodded.
"I do, despite her dumping me." He responded.
"Is there any way that I could convince you to drop it?" He asked. "After all the other day you were the team cheerleader."

Being called a cheerleader seemed to amuse her instantly.
"Yeah, yeah, consider it dropped," she says, side-glancing at the Crab and making a mental acknowledgement of her existence. "It's not like I'm bringing up the noodle incident in a public place--which by the way, tell Saito-sama I'll forgive him if he brings leftovers from his cooking class. How many recipes here? Just three? You got to have a little more faith in me, Bayushi-san. I'm cooking for two."

He shrugged and nodded.
"It's not much, but it's a start. For more I will need time." He looked at the direction of the Crab.
His hands made some weird movements in Scorpion code language.
Pics, rooms, lockers and courses for all members of the clan assigned to you.
He then cracked his knucles.
"I am looking for a maskmaker."
