The Unicorn bowed to both the teacher and her opponent, offering the Badger a reassuring smile before taking a few steps back to wait with the rest of the class as the other duel continued. She absently rubbed her side, even though Priya had never touched her, her knuckles white as she held her bokken tightly.

When it was his turn to begin, Kaizen looked rather focused and detemind to improve. He knew that his opponent would be better. He bowed to his opponent, raising his bokken to a familar stance, mainly from muscle memory of 'fight time'. His breathing steady his nerves were calm. He was ready to begin the lesson. Aiko might recognize the stance he is using as it does resemble his father's style. Ooc. Holy crap i exploded to a 30 off of 2 dice for initiative orokos.com/roll/588049

((That's nice. Except we're rolling straight opposed Kenjutsu/Agi sets to keep it simple and straightforward.))

Noboru managed to weave past the practice blade before giving Kaizen a swift strike with his own. He then waited patiently for his opening and made another lunge at the Spider, commenting, "Remember what I told you about the blade being a graceful weapon, not a club." (OOC: Another 29)

Kaizen gets very irritated by that, and changes stances. Sacrificing defense he chose to go for an all out strike. even if he were to lose, he would hit this boy in a way that he will not forget. He hit the boy square in the chest leaving an audible crack. 39 full attack, +1 raise called shot chest. orokos.com/roll/588114

((Alright. Finally figured out how to handle this without it becoming a huge thing that might spill over into other threads...))
Seeing the Spider student's anger and frustration given into a potentially harmful blow towards his fellow student, Aiko steps in and, quickly drawing one of her own blades, deflects the young man's bokken off-course. She stands between the two, looking very unhappy.
"Mitsu-san, I am going to count that as Mirumoto-san's victory, as you were striking in a most shameful and cowardly manner. This is a friendly spar, meant to gauge the relative skill of you students, and to strike with such murderous intent in such a situation shows great disrespect for me and for your fellow students. I teach warriors the way in which to properly wield their weapons. I am not teaching brutes how to use blunt objects. Take a seat."
She turns her attention away from the young man, sheathing the blade as she does so.
"Next pairs. Mirumoto Sakura and Akodo Seijuro. Daidoji Satoru and Daidoji Kobushi."

Kobushi nods to the sensei and readies himself. It had been too long since he properly practiced kenjutsu, but the practice weapon felt He gives his fellow the Daidoji the respect he is due and takes his shot. orokos.com/roll/589150 22

Satoru also turns to give the other Daidoji the proper respects. He doesn't seem as uncomfortable as he had when facing Ichiro, but his stance speaks volumes. He is prepared far more to defend than attack. With less faith in his own skill than the next samurai, he tries to hold his own to inevitably give up the first point. Kenjutsu R1: 5d10ro1o10k2 26Except he doesn't. In fact, he takes it, almost assuming that he had already lost and already apologizing to Kobushi for what he thought was a late strike. "S-sorry, oh...did...did I get that one?"
