She sat in the baths, soaking in the water, enjoying the silence perhaps more than she normally would.
There was a focus here, a relaxation as her cold bones warmed in the heated water. She had had to wash away her makeup, but in doing so felt a mask drop.
Such blessings did not last long though, and she started to feel the cold again.
"Hello sister" she whispers, low enough for only her to hear
Uetani-chan she hears the voice wail in her mind all alone Uetani-chan, that is how we died. Find a man, find a woman, find a drink Uetani-chan, but do not be alone.
It was always the same demand. More. She felt the longing, the hunger, the distance and she needed more...

Asurito has been homeless, in wet clothes and freezing for the whole day now. Thankfully she had found a bed for the night, but she had taken none of her precious showers. The girl walks silently through the school halls.
A towel from her locker. Check.
Clean and dry clothes from her room. Not check. She will have to manage without those.
Avoiding the showers in the girls' dorms. It can be done.
After a looong time under the very hot water in the showers in the hotsprings, the girl wraps her towel around her and walks outside.
"Hello." She greets the other girl after sinking into the water.

Uetani turns her head to the other woman a little slowly, the smile on her lips a little less sad from the lack of black paint.
"Hello there. Kakita Uetani. Won't you come and sit by me samurai-san?"
She offers the space next to her
"I do so enjoy conversation in the bath"

"Yes, conversation is a good thing." The girl responds. She's in a foul mood, but that gives her no right to drag the good name of her family into the mud by being... the worst.
"Miya Asurito of the Heralds." She introduces herself and moves a bit closer. "Have you eaten rice today, Kakita san?" What a silly question... In its literal form the answer is obvious, it's midnight already. As a metaphor? No stranger would burden someone by saying that they are not well. Silly question...

"I have thank you" she responds "And yourself?" she will observe the niceties at least "The Miya heralds are a prestigious group indeed. I am honoured to spend my time with you tonight"

Oh, poor girl. She knows nothing. She has no idea that she's talking to the worse herald that ever stepped on this earth.
"Hai, I was blessed." Asurito responds. "The Kakita is a very honorable family. I'm pleased to have met you, as well."
A few moments pass in silence before she speaks again. "Are you new in this school? I don't think that I have seen you before."

"I transferred in from Tsuma" she says softly "I would be a third year, if my count is correct"

"Yes, Tsuma High. The main opponent for our iaido club." She says. "I'm a third year, as well." Then silence follows. The Miya knows that she has to find another subject for small talk. It is expected from her. She is the courtier, after all.
She scratches the back of her head a bit and stretches her legs under the water. Nothing interesting really comes to her mind. "Duelist or artisan?" She asks after a while. Well, at least, it is something.

"Oh a little of both" she smiles "Hopefully I will end up leading the duelling club in victory against my old team though" She rises a little out of the water, a little more of her breasts bared "Delicate flowerI witness you bloom for meTogether by chance"The poem is born of the moment, given to the Miya as the Kakita draws a little closer, smiling flirtatiously Poetry: 9d10o10k4 45"Like I say, a little of both Miya-sama"

Even for Asurito and her mood at the time, the poem is perfect.
"Wow! That's not a little a bit. That was like the haiku of all haiku." She says impressed.
The girl doesn't move away or seems to respond in any way to the Kakita's smile. Athletes don't have an issue with closeness and well, it is expected from artisans to be passionate.
"Did you just come up with it? Because it certainly seemed so." For a moment she wonders if the girl is a wonder kid of poetry. "Should I have recognised your name? From a poetry collection or something?"
