"We should all probably spar each other at some point so that we all get exposed to different fighting styles and such. I mean that is if you all think you can handle three back to back matches of sparring." He says the last with a good natured jovial smile issuing it as a sort of friendly challenge.
Ichiro turns back to Rodrigo and laughs a little "don't worry man Iaijutsu isn't my strong suit either it takes too much patience and concentration."

"Of course I would be up for multiple bouts. I used to be on the dueling team in my high school back home, I am used to this sort of thing."
Rodrigo nodded.
"And yeah, tell me about it. I talked to the iaijutsu teacher afterwards and she told me to empty my mind and focus on the 'void'. ...more difficult than it sounds, I just ended up thinking about not thinking."

Ichiro being all ready to go pulls out his bokken and bows to Rodrigo before settling into his stance. As he does so his mind starts to fade back as he begins listening to his body, allowing it to take control, trusting his reactions he waits for his opponent to make the first move.

Rodrigo took his own bokken off the rack and tossed it in the air with a flip, catching it by the handle. He nodded to himself, and then assumed his own stance opposite of Ichiro. It was a typical fencing stance, though it probably looked rather odd to a Rokugani. (( Initiative 21, if we wanna roll for it: orokos.com/roll/589335 I'd prefer rolling just because it gives a good benchmark for how to write the actions )) |

"I suppose that leaves you and me for now, Daidoji-san?" Ryuha asks, sitting her things down and to the side away from the main floor area. She begins to do some light stretching in the meantime, needing to warm up a little to get herself limber. He smiles in response. He goes into his stretches as well, testing a training weapon. "Same as last time, or do you mind if I make it harder on myself and use kenjutsu?" |

Rodrigo was fast, maybe even faster than Ichiro but Ichiro was fire and Rodrigo likely didn't expect it when he stepped into the assault. He'd likely expected the sensible thing, for his opponent to back off and defend against such speed, which is why Ichiro moving in and to the right throw off the other swordsman as his blade arched up and made solid contact with Rodrigo's ribs. 59 orokos.com/roll/589464 |
