Ichiro nods "I trained with the Matsu school of swordplay more all in at any cost. We don't focus much on defense just overwhelming our opponent." Ichiro saw the blade come in when Rodrigo struck but the blow was clumsy and very off target. The other boy's focus had certainly returned to the bout but it seemed as if his strikes were lacking confidence I think losing the first 2 points had shaken his opponent. Ichiro parried the first and second Rodrigo almost connected but at the last minute Ichiro twisted his torso and leaned back barely dodging the bokken and striking the other boy for the final point. orokos.com/roll/589554 37 ((The dice gods are a fickle mistress indeed. After she parries his strike and steps back, Ryuha allows herself a smile. "Never met a Crane who said he's enjoy getting hit. Then again, you're not most Crane." This time, she strikes out at Kobushi. He'd likely be able to retaliate appropriately with a counter. Her skills at reaction, honed by her duelist's training, let her strike without hesitation when she notices an opening in Kobushi'd defense. He winces at that comment. Not being like 'most Crane' is evidently a sore spot for him. But he doesn't let that bother hi too long, and when he feels the strike against him, he actually does brighten and smile. This would be a different spar from last time, he knows. He just hopes he doesn't disappoint her. He makes his attack, spotting a gap in Ryuha's defense. He isn't sure it's a feint, but he takes it. He goes for a tap on the shoulder. Ryhua offers the Daidoji a smile as she keeps her guard up. "You're getting better. You must have been paying attention in Aiko-sama's class yesterday." This time, she comes at him with a thrust to the sternum, gauging his reaction speed again. As she pierces through his defenses, she pulls back and pokes him gently in the chest with her stick.
