Doji Fuyuko sits in the Dojo, a large banner above that reads Iaido Team Tryouts above her and a small radio next to her playing some nice smooth rock from the Gempuku Massacre. She has a rack of shinai next to her as well as some of the dummies that have balloons tied to certain points on them. She fans herself gently with a purple fan containing the Unicorn mon as she waits for people to come and see if they would make the team. She had a good eye for talent, an eye that is currently behind a pair of fully opaque sunglasses on the goth's face as she waits to see who wishes to join the team this year.

Much to his surprise, Daidoji Kobushi finds that no one has arrived before he did. That confuses him, as he expected tryouts for the team to be much more crowded. Not that he expected to qualify, but he wanted to try. Then he sees the sensei, who makes him twitch just a little now that he doesn't have an entire class of students between him and her countenance.
Still, like any good Daidoji, he bows properly.
"Good day Sensei," he greets. "Are beginners allowed to try out for the team or is this for those with more experience only?"

Fuyuko looks up and gives him a deep bow. "Beginners are allowed. I can't gaurentee you will fight every tournament if you do not score well however you will be on the roster and if any of our others are injured, you will stand in their place." she says as she stands. "If, you do poorly. We have confidence in you." she says in her odd little voice as she gestures to the practice weapons.

Kobushi bows again, taking note of the Unicorn mon on the fan. However, he decides not to question it, instead finding a practice weapon and trying to recall what he knew of iai. Which was very little, but he wasn't completely ignorant. Thanks to one class of musical chairs, at that.

Ah! Iaido club! Definitely wants to join!
The Doji girl seems to be in a particularly good mood, smiling and with a skip in her step, and for once not looking as if a large and dangerous predator is about to leap from the bushes to devour her.
"Good morning, Doji-sensei!" She bows deeply. "I would be honored if I could be considered for iaido club. I will do my best not to let anyone down!"
She even sounds halfway confident, as if she really believes she might actually be considered good enough...

Fuyu nods to the two of them. "Good Morning Doji-san! This one is happy to see you both here. Very well, the test is simple, using the wooden stick take 3 strikes at a dummy. Points will be accorded based on hits. Enough points and you make it on the team, at which point you may duel to determine captain. This one has faith in the both of you."
The balloons were set up simple, just a basic test of a simple Iaido strike.

"Ah! Of... Of course!" Reiha quickly hurries over to grab a shinai whose length suits her and slides it into her obi. Banishing her insecurity and doubt she assumes her stance in front of the dummy, going through three Seitei Iaido Katas, 1 sitting, two standing. Of course, both before and after demonstrating the kata she does the proper bows, to her fellow student and the sensei. She was obviously nervous, and far from happy with her performance, but manages not to cry. We'll call it progress! "I... I hope that was adequate, Doji-sensei?" Self-doubt creeps back into her voice. |

Rodrigo walked into the dojo and looked up at the banner, then clucked his tongue. 'Tryouts', eh? Well, he was going to have to give it his all, then. He bowed to Fuyuko when he saw her.
"Hello, Doji-sensei! The day has been treating you well, I trust?"

Kakita Isao entered the dojo with his trademark smile and declined his head towards his fellow students. He had heard that Club Day was supposed to be exciting so he was looking forward to an opportunity to meet like minded friends. Fortunately for him, he already recognized everyone in the dojo but he was sure others would show up throughout the day. "Ohayo gozaimasu!" the Kakita chirped in greeting to his fellow club members. "Doji-sensei! Daidoji-san! Doji-san! Roguregu-san!"
