Teaching? Well that was simple enough. Rodrigo knew how to instruct someone in swordwork, he'd done it before. Granted, not this kind of swordwork, but the basics were the same. His experience training showed. Soon he had the kid going through some basic techniques, and was smiling and encouraging him along the way.

Noboru looked at Aiko like she'd lost her mind. Since when does teaching anyone have to do with being a captain? He began working with the child, then about partway through the lesson noticed a flaw in her stance and, though awkward himself, was able to correct it. As the sensei announced the results however, Noboru grunted and went to grab his things. "I'm sorry, sensei, but my honor prohibits me from remaining if a gaijin is leading this club. He doesn't even know proper Rokugani stances." He stopped a moment and gave Aiko a terse bow, about how he usually does with her, but something about the statement felt off. In the two previous years of classes she'd know he wasn't a sore loser, yet to choose this moment to be one? Especially when he came in (at least) third anyway?

Rodrigo heard the comment and twitched before glaring at Noboru.
"The winner hasn't even been announced yet. Though if you're going to give up that easily I guess you're making the right decision."
