Aiko looks at Rodrigo for a few moments, clearly a bit shocked by the fact he didn't even know the basics of kendo, such as the required equipment. She sighs inwardly. Merciful Jizo, I hope this doesn't bode ill for his overall skill level.
"It is the protective equipment worn during kendo matches. One of the other students will help you get fitted," Aiko eventually says.

Rodrigo nodded, suddenly understanding.
"Oh, like fencing armor. Alright. No need for assistance, I should be able to get it on myself."
Rodrigo headed over to the bogu, now knowing what they were, and began to put some on.

Isao padded over to the bogu and began to don the protective equipment, smiling happily as he was eager to fight.

Noboru watched all of this from a distance, the Mirumoto's eyes fixating upon Aiko-sensei with a dark glare. In the previous two years, she'd note he'd never even bothered to show up for the club before, let alone just stand somewhere and watch.
