Utaku Genji manned one of the larger tents in the courtyard, one far too spacious for the number of people who were likely to join and with good reason.
Freki and Geri laid near Utaku Genji, the two half-wolf war dogs each gnawing on a a bone. The Utaku Stable Master sat on a pillow as he reached over to scritch the pair behind their ears. A new year meant new students who were interested in preventing animals from being mistread. A new year also meant educating the same students what was and wasn't acceptable in making sure animals were being treated humanely. As such he simply sat, eager to see familiar and new faces alike!

A familiar face, not the fox he was expecting, Fenne the fenec fox. The little guy seemed to have separated from his owner. The little fox yipped to the sensei.

Genji looked down at the fennec with a bemused gaze, getting up from the spot he had been waiting for others to show to go check in the little fox. He smiled as he reached out to pet Fenne and scritch the little fox behind the ear.
"And what are you doing here, Fenne? Especially without Isawa Koko-san and Isawa Kiki-san?"

"Playing Hide and seek..." Koko giggled as she hid behind the door.

Genji heard the giggling and just shook his head slowly while smiling, continuing to pet Fenne while he waited for more students to join them. "And I hope Isawa Kiki-san is with you as well, Isawa Koko-san?"

Reiha hesitantly enters the tent.
"Hello, Utaku-sensei! Have you eaten rice today?" She adds a bow. "I... Uh, I wish to join the club?"
Perhaps if she understands animals better, she might learn something about herself...
Her eyes widen in surprise when she spots Fenne. "Hey girl! What are you doing here? Where is Kokoro-san?" The Doji girl comes closer, then freezes as she spots the wolf-hounds, mortal fear apparent in her eyes...
Dogs hate kitsune. Kitsune fear dogs. Everyone knows that! Why are there dogs here?

Koko and Kiki show their faces tilting from the door. "Hai Kiki chan is here with me." She smiled at Reiha. "Reiha san..." She came out of her hiding spot. Kiki just giggled and waved a big hello.

Genji was about to greet Reiha when he heard Geri and Freki starting to growl lowly. They'd never acted like that before, so his immediate instinct was to turn toward them and offer a sharp "Shh!" Both hounds sat down, but the concern was already there. He looked to one of the nearby hands and instructed. "Something's bothering them. Take them back to their pens, I'll check on them later this afternoon."
As the hand hurried to get the two wolf-hounds out of the tent he bowed to Reiha, then to both Kiki and Koko. "I'm sorry you three had to experience that. They're normally very well behaved."

Koko was used to dogs due to her uncle being one. They bowed at Genji and to Reiha with a smile. "It is fine sensei. I think it is their wolf half that makes them a bit aggressive towards foxes."

Reiha has taken a few steps back, ready to bolt. Fox ears and her two tails are visible and she is actually visibly shaking.
"Nuh uh. It's their dog side. Definitely their dog side!" She leans forward, hands on her knees as she tries to calm herself down and regain control of her breathing. "Dogs can recognize us, and they hate us. They are horrible!"
