Tsuki looked to Yoshi at the question of communing with the spirits in the statue. "I don't know if anyone tried, but Yoshi might. Unfortunately, it seems some staff took it away for the time being."
She looked back to Koshiro, and continued to more directly address the ronin. "I don't think that will fix anything, but I suspect it would be a good idea to have a statue of such a fortune returned to proper recognition. If it breaks again, then I am uncertain what to say without some sense of research on the subject. Still, it wouldn't hurt to try to repair the original, or have a new one set in Goemon's place at the shrine."

"As far as I know, Horiuchi-san only asked the kami if the statue was authentic and not built to break that way, before we determined it was an omen," he reiterates to Tsuki, for the benefit of Koshiro. "She may have done more while I was away for looking for damage at other buildings. I can ask Mirumoto-sensei when I call her with what we've found here. She might know where the pieces were taken so someone can do that if it hasn't been yet." He looks to Koshiro. The maintenance man might have some idea where they'd be taken too, he imagines.

"If staff took the pieces away, they didn't bring them to us. Probably being held as evidence or for further study somewhere," Koshiro shrugs. "Sadly I'm not good at making fancy things like statues either. Simple things like tables and chairs and walls, sure. Statues with expressions and positions and stuff? Not in my skillset, sadly. Am not really the artsy type."

"Well, then I suppose we will just have to see if they are willing to let us look at the statue, if we were to possibly pursue this. Otherwise I am uncertain of where to go from here," Tsuki looked between the two, "Unless either of you have heard of any other strange events around the school?"

Ryouko had never been the most diligent in her prayers. Having been raised mostly outside of Rokugan, she simply had not been raised to go pray every day. Still, her father had managed to drill into her SOME manners concerning the Fortunes, and now that she found herself with some free time, the Unicorn figured it was about time she payed a proper visit to the schools temple.
She was a bit surprised to see a group of students already gathered. As she walked in, she caught Tsuki's words. Raising an eyebrow, she hesitated a moment before allowing her curiosity to win and moving toward the others, bowing and waiting to be acknowledged before interrupting.

"I haven't heard of anything myself, but I can ask around," Yoshi offers to Tsuki. "However, Mirumoto-sensei warned against causing any sort of panic over wild speculation, so I'll... um... try to be indirect about it, I guess; like we learned in class today." He smiles at the memory of sitting so near to her for a long period, just before they came to the temples.
"Oh, hello, Utaku-sama," Yoshi says, noticing Ryouko and bowing to her. "Please pardon us if you wished to pray in peace to these Minor Fortunes. We were... just about done, I think."

Ryouko tilted her head slightly. "Tamori-san." She greeted back, black eyes flickering from the dragon, to the ronin and then to the crane. "I apologize, I couldn't help but overhear. Has something happened?"

Not knowing this new arrival well at all, Yoshi looks back to Tsuki, deferring to her as to whether they should share what they knew with the Utaku. Given what he'd just said about Aiko's warnings, he hoped that the older Unicorn student was perhaps known to the also-more-senior Crane student beside him.

Tsuki offered a look to Yoshi, and then turned to Ryouko and smiled as she bowed to the woman. "Utaku-san, it is nice to see you once again. We were just discussing what happened with a statue breaking here the other day." If the Kakita had any qualms with explaining the situation to the newcomer, she certainly didn't show it.
Once Ryouko was caught up to speed, her attention shifted back to Yoshi. "Well, we don't have to wildly speculate. Simply asking if someone heard of odd happenings around the school would help us know if this is a piece of a whole or not," she explained.

Koshiro bows in return towards the Unicorn, unfamiliar to him as they've never met before. He is silent on the matter of the statue as the two other were more informed than him about it, expecting them to tell the Unicorn more about it. He turns towards the Crane and shrugs. "Well, one does tend to hear weird and odd things in the rumors that spread around every day, though how true they are gets lost in the sea of gossip. I did hear a rumor about a clash of thunder last night, maybe that's something?"
