"I rarely take vacations, and business takes me to only larger cities really, outside of Crane lands. Mostly to Ryoko Owari and Yasuki Yashiki. The vacations I do take... well, I'm not much for sun or sand or such. I would rather stay inside with a nice bottle of wine and enjoy some music. Perhaps why most of my vacations tend to be to Crane and Phoenix lands, since they have more luxury art experiences."
Momiko listens raptly, not having been on most of these trips herself, turning back to Yoshi, "I get to come along on the occasional trip to Crane lands myself; That's always pretty darn fun."

"I... like music... and art... and I don't like the beach much either," Yoshi says, trying his best to relate to the Asahina matriarch. Turning to Momiko, he asks with greater ease, "What sort of fun do you have in other parts of Crane lands? Are they very different from Toshi Ranbo?"

"Oh, definitely; There's a lot of farm land and woods and other things, even these days. You get to see a lot of it when you travel by train. I think the tunnels and tracks through the mountains are the best though, going from northern Crane lands to southern ones. Especially the one time we rode on the viewing carriage." She gets out her phone, booping its keys a bit before turning to show a picture to Yoshi, "See? I took a lot of pictures during that trip! We usually just go by business class." Mei speaks up, "It WAS a business trip; They just had a discount on the viewing carriage. More economical you see."...Yoshi would swear he could see Mei blushing if he looked close enough.

While Yoshi could not be described as worldly, he was definitely observant, and the blush did not escape his notice. It was bittersweet in its way, to realize that there was a dichotomy to Mei's feelings about Momiko. While she overtly distanced herself from the young woman, there were these subtle clues to her affectionate side as well. He wonders why she feels the need to keep them so hidden, but with every passing insight into their complex relationship, Yoshi feels a little less urgency to mend whatever was broken between them. He still wishes he could, but as long as Momiko is happy and Mei is embarrassed by indulging her, it can wait a little longer.
"That's... um... almost a mountain," Yoshi says half-heartedly of the rocky little hill in the picture. "It really is a good photo, though. You can show me more... maybe after dinner." He didn't want to prolong finishing the meal with more photos now, although it meant that their post-meal itenerary, which he was eager to start, was also continuing to grow.

"Hai hai. And yeah, I'm sure the coastal Crane mountains are not much compared to the Dragon ones. But if they were much bigger, I think it would be hard to get a train through, neh?"
Momiko sat back and started on her noodles; She actually knew less about trains than she thought.

"We manage," Yoshi says, half-grinning and shrugging. "There are a lot of winding climbs and long tunnels, on the mountain train routes I've seen. I flew down here for school though, out of Kitsuki Imperial Airport." He works on his own pasta dish as well, wondering if he'll have any room left for the pizza that was promised at Hoshiko's sleepover coming later that night.

"A plane, hm? Never been inside a plane myself. I was on a plane's wing once though... I think I'd prefer to learn to fly a helicopter though; They just seem cooler."
Momiko talked between bites.
"I think a helicopter would be after learning to drive a motorcycle though."
Mei coughed, patting her upper chest. The timing was surely cooincidental.

"Why... were you just on the wing?" Yoshi asks, concerned. Of course, he reasons it had something to do with her superheroism, but he was certainly curious about the details. "I mean... I can tell you all about what being on the inside is like... but I bet it won't be as interesting. I'm also... not a huge fan of motorcycles... and riding on the back of my room mate's didn't improve my opinion of them."

"There was this samurai trying to kidnap his daughter over some sort of custody dispute. The magistrates lost track of him after he stole a car, but I managed to follow him to the airport. He had a small plane he was going to take off in, but I jumped from the roof of the hanger onto the wing as he was taxiing. Knocked him out and had his daughter call the police after I untied her."
Now Mei was frowning... but she didn't interrupt.

"That's... horrible," Yoshi says, aghast. He pauses to suppress a few dark thoughts, like that he might secretly wish either of his parents wanted him enough to do something like that, or that a twisted abusive form of love might be better than none at all. Shaking his head to clear it, he asks, "How old was she?"
