Aiko doesn't seem to mind the hand holding, smiling at the former Lion, ordering her own meal as well, which is...slightly less massive than Akane's meal. And for some reason, Aiko doesn't feel the need to say anything for a few minutes, as hey. Sometimes, actions speak louder than words. In this case, just drawing comfort from the touch is enough for Aiko.

Akane is certainly drawing comfort from it; Aiko watches the Matsu woman, normally hyper active around people, just sit there for minutes with her eyes closed and a calm smile on her face as she holds Aiko's hand. Finally, after those few minutes her eyes reopen slowly and Aiko can see tears in them.
"I really missed you, Mirumoto Aiko..." she says in a small voice, still smiling.

Aiko returns the smile, squeezing Akane's hand as she does so. She seems rather content, blushing a bit at the Ryudo woman's comment.
"I missed you, as well, Ryudo Akane. You always are full of the most pleasant surprises."

Akane tries to think of how she's surprised Aiko-chan, but that quickly becomes non-important. All that matters is she does it and it makes Aiko happy. So she simply nods.

Aiko smiles at Akane, "You got any big plans for winter break when it comes?"

"Winter break? No, not yet. I think just coming to teach here was about as much planning as I could handle at once."
