"Then why the hell did your father let this continue if there's no blood feud?!" came the Dragon's terse response as he stared at Tsuki with a different look. It was the look he'd reserved for Aiko and Sakura. The look he had for Kaizen as well. His eyes burned as they looked at her, filling with tears of anger and frustration, the pain and anger being joined with blame.
"How many Kami damned people have to die because your father and Mirumoto Aiko-sensei sit on their asses and do nothing about it? If there's no blood feud, why haven't they spoken up? And why in Jigoku did my sister have to die? What did she do that your clan permitted a duel to the death?"
Noboru's tone had grown louder, so it was probably a good thing they were alone in the halls where no one could see them or hear them losing their On in such a way. Especially when he shot, "I wish the hell the Thunders had died. At least then I'd still have Hikari-nee-chan and not have to see the look on my parents' faces when we were told of the duel and her fate!"

"The very fact you ask that is why we are here! You know nothing of what he's done!" She countered, her own instincts kicking in, that cold look her father had given everyone manifesting on her features.
"You want to blame someone?! Then blame your thunder! Blame Mirumoto Aiko! While my father has done his part, she has sat in this school for the last eighteen years pretending that this feud was just going to happen. She was the one who called for it! She was the one who ran from a duel and set our families at each other throats! She's the reason why so many more had to be dragged into a fight! She has not once gone and told anyone feud doesn't exist! I bet she even told you it did!"
Tsuki's voice hardened, that pristine clear enunciation cold and sharp as a razors edge. He wished her parents dead. By the kami she nearly did it. She nearly moved to strike him. Her hand stayed while ice creeped across her skin as if the kami knew to protect her. "I won't be like you, or your thunder though. I won't sit here and blame others, or wallow in my self pity. If you want to challenge me, Mirumoto, then do it. In the mean time, I will find the daisho your clan pines after and have it returned, and end this charade."

"I blame her, your parents, Shosuro Sakura, Ichiro Mitsu, Akodo Arasou, Isawa Eiji, Hida Tetsuo and Utaku Chiaki," came a rather blunt reply from the Mirumoto as he hears the woman's voice go cold on him. "They can all rot in Jigoku because as far as I can tell they're all responsible for this and your parents and Mirumoto Aiko have done nothing to put an end to this!"
He stepped closer, leveling his index finger toward Tsuki as the conversation continued to become heated. "And I refuse to let you stand here and tell me that my sister died because of a lie. If the blood feud didn't exist, why was Kakita Ichiro permitted to use it to defame Kitsuki Shun, my sister, Kitsuki's method and the Niten? Why did our clans permit a duel to the death between Ichiro and my sister..." his tone raised, anger boiling over at the very thought of the lie that someone, whether it's Tsuki, her clan, or someone else, perpetrated, "over a blood feud that doesn't exist?"
Noboru backed up and for a moment his hand shifted to his daisho before again curling into a fist. "My sister... did not die... because of a lie..."

"She did," Tsuki's answer came back gentle this time, her empathy piercing through the anger. "Whether you accept it or not, whether you understand it or not, there has never officially been a blood feud. My father has done everything he can. He has said there's no blood feud, but no one will believe that, not until Mirumoto Aiko-sensei says the same thing or duels him. When Mirumoto Okoro-shiryo spoke out, it sparked everything."
Her gaze hardened again and frustration surged back forth. "I don't know why our clan's allowed it, but it only added to the fire. I won't stand here anymore however and listen to people speak as if it is real. Not when it put's people at each others throats and not when it creates people like you!"
Tsuki's hands fell to her pocket and she began to pull out her phone, but her eyes met Noburo's with an equal intensity. "And neither will I stand here and let you constantly insult my father, when you have no clue who he is or what he has done."

"No. My sister didn't die because of a lie..." came an almost broken record at this point, only this time the response seemed to be more denial than claiming what Tsuki said was false. "That duel was two years ago, Okoro's death two and a half. And yet you're telling me that our clans let this go on for over two years without stopping it? That your Champion could have simply said "there is no blood feud" in the Emperor's Court before either Mirumoto Okoro or my sister died and hasn't then or since?"
"You're a liar," came the accusation. "That or you're in denial because you don't want to bring yourself to believe your parents had any hand in this. Your father is the Crane Clan Thunder, your mother somehow a Thunder... which I'll never understand since there are only seven... as well as the Master of Water. All it would take is them publicly stating 'there is no blood feud' and the matter would have been dropped by now."

"I don't know either, but that doesn't mean he didn't try. Don't just heave the blame on my clan when yours could have acted as well! Your champion could have easily said there was never a feud either, and it would have carried more weight since it comes from the callers clan!" Tsuki countered, her own dismay at how things were progressing poking out beneath her words.
His insult however, could not be ignored. Not anymore. "Mirumoto Noburo-san, You have insulted my father under the words of inaction, you claim Doji Makoto-sama has made no action, and you call me a liar or in denial of truth. I will ask once, and only once, that you take back your claims of my lies and denial. Else I will defend my honor, and my families." If there was ever a time for sincerity in the woman's words, this was the moment where there was no mask to prevent any miscommunication.
"Regardless of your choice, I will find out why things are this way." She added, phone still in her hand.

"When the sword is once drawn, the passions of men observe no bounds of moderation."
He didn't really seem to care who she was calling, she could be calling the Emperor himself and it wouldn't stay what he had to say on the matter. "You can keep telling yourself there is no blood feud or there never was a blood feud, but the truth is this, Kakita Tsuki-san. Our lords have done nothing to stop the actions and words of Mirumoto Okoro, Kakita Ibu, Kakita Ichiro and others like them. If our lords had spoken out on the matter, there would be record of it and no one on either side would dare do anything to shame themselves by acting like there is one."
"Simply put, either there is one and they aren't intent on stopping it or they've not done enough to stop it. Regardless, if there wasn't a blood feud before, there certainly is one now."

There was no other way to go about it, and her temper had already flared. The ice that had crawled across her skin, the showing of her favored element, had only increased. With a cool voice, she spoke between near gritted teeth. "Fine then, if you will not take back your words, then for the sake of my name, and my families, I challenge you to a duel of first blood. I will name my champion, and see to it that the administration is notified."
Her fingers tightened their grip on the phone. "In the meantime, I will not idly sit by. You will have your days to prepare, Mirumoto Noburo-san."

"People have died because of whatever blood feud does or does not exist. That alone makes it real and to say it doesn't exist is folly and an insult to each of those five Kakita that Mirumoto Okoro slew and an insult to my sister by saying they died for no reason at all."
A sigh.
"That's also why I can't accept your challenge; I won't insult the lives of those who died by saying they died for nothing should I lose. Perhaps your father has been acting to put an end to this; but if he has, why isn't there some sort of media coverage about it? I mean, he's a Thunder for Kami's sake! If one of the heroes of the Onyx War says there isn't a blood feud, people are going to take note of it and listen!"
"Either way, the fact remains that the avalanche has already started. Whether or not there was a blood feud, there's one now. I'm sorry if hearing that upsets or offends you, but the truth can be ugly sometimes. I should know, I've had to deal with my share of it in the last two days."

Tsuki balked at his claim of the blood feud being the very reason he couldn't accept the duel. "Are you serious?! What kind of half baked line are those! My challenge isn't based on whether the feud is real or not, my challenge is on how you have insulted not only myself but my father!" She stepped forward towards the man.
"Perhaps? Perhaps?! Is that same paltry attempt at trying to apologize for the words you have spoken against him?! I sat here not a moment ago stating I don't know why no one has listened, and now you question it after I demand honor be satisfied?! And then you have the gall to tell me that just because there's nothing official a feud, that has never been okay, now exists and that the truth hurts!" A wind kicked up, her faintly moving in the breeze, the kami of the air now reacting to her anger.
"If you have an ounce of respect of what dueling is, something so valued by you think a club tarnishes its meaning, then either apologize or accept, but don't you dare use the dead as an excuse for your words."
