She takes another long sip of her tea then, savouring the taste.
"Plus, we've already been through a lot. Our relationship has been tempered in the fire so to speak."

Hinata chuckled.
"It even started with fire. Thank the Kami for Kobushi-san, neh?"
She smiled and leaned forward.
"Really, I am glad he stepped in. It is only thanks to him we are friends at all. My temper can get...ahead of me, at times."

"Kobushi is definitely an interesting fellow. I do hope he finds a good girl to spend his life with... or a guy, I'm not entirely sure what he's into."
She sits back then as their food arrives, the plates of steaming comfort food laid out along with some side dishes.
"I am also a stubborn ass at times. it's a sad by-product of spending 3 years looking over my shoulder everytime someone passed me in the hall. This place is much different but old habits die hard right?"

"I can sympathize with that. Look at what I have been having to put up with since I got here. I am sure it does not compare to three years of what you had to go through, though."

"To be fair Hinata, you have an Otomo on your back like a ghost haunting your every move." If only Nade knew how close she was to the real truth there.
"I just had some angry people who's entire lot in life is being a peasant. They thankfully didn't know I wasn't one of them but they knew my parents were rich... and I was prettier than most of them and that was enough. Still, it was just childish pranks and bullying, Katsumi could do some real harm.

Hinata looked frightened at the mention of a ghost behind her back. That topic could not come up here, she would not let it. Not now, not ever. Even if her and Nadeshiko were friends, she could not be entirely sure Nadeshiko would not turn right around and turn her in. Maybe out of concern for her, maybe out of fear; it did not matter, the end result was the same.
She managed to erase the expression from her face. Maybe Nadeshiko would mistake it for fear over the topic of Katsumi. She desperately prayed she would.
"I...yes, you are right. The harpy is a real threat. All I am saying is...can I understand that changing you. After what Koshiro said yesterday, I have been worried..."
There, maybe a shift in topic would do the trick.

Nade was oh so perceptive, it was a curse sometimes, there was too much in Hinatas expression at the mention of ghost for Nade to ignore. However she also knew what it was like to have dark secrets and so she simply filed it away for later and went along with the change of topic easly.
"Temptation is a powerful thing and it has felled many powerful men in history. It felled me like a young sapling yesterday. However, I survived it... barely and I have become stronger for it. I now know to fear the lumberjack. I know it's not that profound, I've been mulling over some long thought out parable but simple is always best in the end."

Hinata shook her head, frowning.
"It is more...well, I do not know how to put it. Paranoia? Anger? I feel like I have to keep looking over my shoulder for a knife in my back. ...I suppose she has gotten into my head too, in a roundabout way."
Hinata nibbled on the food, seemingly uninterested in it all of a sudden. There was the bit about temptation, too; the subtle little pieces of 'advice' Yori was oh so fond of whispering in her ears. But she had him under control, she had made that clear to him the last time they had spoken. It was her head, all he could do was talk.

"In Yodotai they had a TV show called Mysteriouser Things. It aired online and it was mostly about some kids in the past. In the second season this monster of sorts was 'contained' and the people in charge of it were adamant it was safe... but the people searched and found that the creature had created tunnels under every inch of the area filled with it's tendrils. Only when they tendrils started to affect the crops above them did anyone notice and even then it took for them to affect all the crops for anyone to really investigate. I guess what I'm saying is... we should be super wary that even if we have Katsumi contained... her tendrils could be right underneath the surface... oh that is sounding really paranoid now. Fortunes, that woman really digs into you doesn't she. Although she doesn't know I turned, maybe we can use that against her if you want?"
Her little rambling speech complete she drinks some more tea, sipping down her cup until the waiter comes to refill it.

Hinata took a sip of her tea, looking worried. Tendrils underneath the earth, rotting things from the inside, with nobody noticing until it was too late...that was a mental image she did not need right now.
