"Right..."
Hinata mulled on it. If it did not work, how could she at least play it so that Yoshinobu did not get hurt in the backlash? She would not allow that to happen, no, could not. But if it was found out and she had to commit seppuku...how in Jigoku was he going to get away unscathed? It would be found out...unless...
...if it came to that, they were going to have to do something they both hated: they were going to have to lie. She bit her lip, and dug her nails into her palms so deeply a trickle of blood ran out.
"...damnit" she whispered, her voice quavering.

"Many people will be offering up their lives, yes..." Sango said, looking to Hinata's hand. Once more, the older Kuni gasped.
"Hinata-san," she almost cried in surprise. "Please, your hand. There is a dark and unclean power in blood, remember?"

Hinata's eyes went wide as she realized she had dug into her palm, and covered it with her other hand, applying pressure so the bleeding would stop.
"Sorry, I was not thinking."
She looked at Sango, her expression worried.
"You...you do not think he could use that, do you?"
Hinata muttered a curse, and took her hand off the cut for a moment to put her finger in her eye, plucking out one of her contacts and pressing it to the wound.
"...well, now he cannot."

"I would not rule anything out," Sango replied hastily, searching for some bandage or wrapping quickly so Hinata could attend to herself. When she finally found something, she saw Hinata had applied some jade to the small wound and sighed in relief.
"Thank goodness... here Hinata-san, you may want to bandage yourself in case," the older Kuni said, setting the first aid supplies on the table.

Hinata nodded, and began wrapping some bandages over her hand. Thanks to what she had learned in first aid class, the wrapping was good. Once she was done she sighed.
"I really need to be more mindful of such things."

Sango nodded, fanning herself with her hand slightly as she flushed. Hinata would need to be more mindful of such things if she was going to become Empress, but there was time for the girl to learn before then if such was her fate.
"Please, let me know if your family has trouble finding a suitable Toritaka to perform any rituals. I will search as best I can myself should anything fall through."

"Right. Thank you."
Hinata sat there for a moment to make sure the bleeding had stopped, then looked at her contact and clucked her tongue in annoyance.
"I suppose I am going to have to get a new one. Oh well, this is why I brought spares."

"I haven't met too many people who wear jade laced contacts, but I suppose they have many benefits," Sango replied, finally noticing that Hinata's eyes were naturally brown just like hers.
"Is there anything else you wished to discuss Hinata-san? The hour is growing rather late, and I would not keep you from Lord Yoshinobu for too long."

Hinata shook her head.
"No, thank you. I would not wish to keep you up any longer."
Hinata stood again and bowed.
"Thank you, Sango-sama."

"Enjoy the rest of your evening, Hinata-san," Sango said, standing and bowing to the girl as well. She passed along her contact information too, which seemed appropriate.
"If you ever need to talk or anything let me know, okay? I'm here to serve Lord Yoshinobu, and assist you and the others as well."
