"The masked lady put it to sleep with a spell last time, but Ichiro-san and I had it cornered when she did," Kobushi says as he looks around, definitely on the alert. The sound is closer now, and the tapping on the wood faster-paced. "I'm not sure we can put this one to sleep if its the same cat. But maybe we can try to contain it some other way?"

Hinata brightened the flame in her hand, preparing for a fight if one arose.

"If it's just an innocent cat taken over by some spirit, I don't want to hurt it," Yoshi says. "Maybe three of us could do a good enough job cornering it, if either of you have a spell that could subdue it?" He looks to Koshiro and Hinata.

Tiger-neko still in one arm, Koshiro takes his little notebook from his front pocket with the other and flips through it with his thumb. "Uhhh... afraid not for me... I mean, I have a spell for curing drunkenness or any sort of poison or toxins, would that maybe clear the haze around the cat's mind? Would it affect a dream? I've no idea, man. I honestly doubt it."

As he says this, he cracks his knuckles and enters into an unarmed combat stance. The sound is moving closer, and Tiger has now gone from meowing to trying actively to wriggle out of Koshiro's arms. Why is anyone's guess.

"Oof! Hey! Stop squirming Tiger-neko!" Koshiro tries to calm the kitty, then gets a weird thought. "H-Hey... Y-You don't suppose Tiger-neko might be the child of the wooden tiger that might be coming this way, do you?"

Yoshi looks briefly to Kobushi, as he'd be the best one to answer Koshiro's question, having been the only one to see both cats. However, he doesn't let his attention waver from their surrounds and trying to determine to the source of the noise. Fight or flight was in order, but since the group seemed split on which to do, he draws his blade, fully ready for either.

The Crane's eyes widen as the tapping sounds become accompanied by a loud growl. It sounds very close now. But after a moment, he manages to get his wits about him and answer the question.
"I don't know for sure. I mean, it could be." He takes a good look at the cat in Koshiro's arms. It really could be, in his mind. "It looks familiar, anyway. If it is, we might be making the big one angry by taking it."
