"Unicorn-sama," Saito casually acknowledges Genji over his shoulder, before taking his time finishing up in the refrigerator to allow the other man access. He adds an appropriate bow after he's retrieved his own items, a container of gazpacho and a bottle of sparkling spring water. He then takes them to sit at a table as far away from the Crane and ronin as possible, sparing the two other teachers only a single, bland look followed by a sigh of tired disbelief as they continually congratulate each other over, and about, tea. Finally, from his jacket he produces a smalll softbound book and begins to read it as he eats.

"It's quite the dirty art." She noted playfully. "But if you are willing to get a bit of dirt on your hands, I'd be more then happy to teach you, Asahina-sama. I usually have some free time in the evenings, I'm sure we could arrange to trade lessons when we aren't busy grading and correcting essays."

While nowhere near oblivious to Saito's reading and clear wish to be left alone, Genji's curiosity starts to get the better of him. So he sits down across from Saito, opening up his bento box.
"That book looks interesting, Scorpion-sama. Probably even something I could read between classes or after I've finished tending to the stables. What's it called?"

Kangei looks down at his clean and well manicured hands and gives a small chuckle "I may show a pristine image but I am no stranger to hard work, nor do I mind getting my hands dirty if the reason is good enough." a mischievous light plays in his eyes as he continues "I am certain that I would quite enjoy spending the evening with you" he pauses and sips his tea leaving the meaning of his sentence questionable "learning and trading knowledge." he finished making his sentence less questionable, or did he?
"so Umeko-san what did you do before you were a teacher here?" Kangei asked curious as to how a gardener acquired the myriad of scars Umeko possessed

Her smile faltered at the question, and she blinked, taken aback by the abrupt change of subject. It was quite obvious that what ever it was she did before, it did not involve spending much time around courtiers... "I... Erm, well I have been teaching for a few years here, before that I was, uh.." She scratched the back of her head, obviously trying to think of something to say before giving up with a shrug. "I was a yokai hunter." She admitted, smiling sheepishly.

"If you're unable to read the cover, I doubt you'll have greater luck with the interior," Saito replies, his eyes not leaving the page. *Editor's Note: The book is entitled "The Disappearing Chopstick".

Genji's eyes flit over to Umeko a second, noting her sheepish smile and slight nervousness before turning back to Saito.
"I can read, Scorpion-sama. I simply couldn't see the cover is all. Mind if I ask what it's about?"

"I feel like we're already past the point where my opinion of your inquiries matters much to you," Saito answers.

Kangei looks over the ronin woman a light of admiration coming to his eyes "It is an honorable pursuit to hunt the spirits of the corrupted, I respect what you have done for the empire. Not many have the courage to do it." Kangei sips "But it must have been a troubling time for you to have shifted so drastically, such dark things are best not spoken of in public over tea. This is a time for relaxing and appreciating what one has. So tell me how have you enjoyed working for the school? The insight of a more veteran teacher would be invaluable to me."

"You could also just make this easy and answer my question," Genji offers with a polite smile before starting in on his lunch. He could tell the Scorpion was irritated (gee, ya think?), but for now his own curiosity was getting the better of him.
