Hah! Riddles! She's a yokai! If there is one thing her people excel at it's...
Reiha's eyes widen in alarm as the Bayushi poses her riddle. The answer is obvious. Oh so very obvious. And it's an act she has some serious hang-ups about. The young Doji blushes furiously, frozen like a rabbit in the headlights (and utterly unable to think further and find the less obvious answer).
"I don't..." She quickly clasps her hands before her mouth, cutting herself off. She very much wants to say she doesn't know, but that would be a lie! She definitely knows and finishing that sentence would be a disaster! So there is only one course of action left to her, she screws her eyes shut and forges on, blurting out her answer and the next challenge as quickly as possible, sounding utterly miserable.
"Myself, Sakura-san-I-know-a-word-of-letters-three, add-two-and-fewer-there-will-be, what-is-the-word?
Please let me die...

Hisui lets the introductions and riddles play on, but frowns at Chiyo's. The obvious discomfort of the Doji easily drew the attention of the others, if allowed to linger on. Calling out the Scorpion now had the potential to make things worse. Instead, she resolves to use the question posited by the Crane to help take the brunt of the attention away from her.
The solution was less than ideal, but it did shift attention from Reiha to her, and then to Sakura.
"Mirumoto-san, in case you didn't quite catch that, Doji-san said 'I know a word of letters three, add two and fewer there will be. Waht is the word?'"

Sakura tilts her head a little, considering the riddle for a few moments. She works her way through the possibilities, quickly and quietly, before replying.
"Few, Doji-sama."
Another moment's consideration, "Do I ask you one now, Utaku-sensei or do I ask one of my classmates?"

"I believe..." She pauses, scouts the area. "Tsuruchi-san still remains."
She made a note to talk to the Bayushi after class.

Sakura blinks a little, turning her attention to the Tsuruchi, as if noticing her for the first time, "Ah. Gomen! I did not mean to cause offense, Tsuruchi-sama. This one apologizes for her oversight."
Another pause, a moment of consideration as she tries to conjure from her memory one of her Togashi sensei's favorite riddles. Ah. Yes. That one should do.
"What isn't wisdom?"

Reiha sits huddled, trying to become one with the wallpaper and busies herself drawing in her sketchbook, and certainly not meeting anyone's eyes. It takes a while for her blush to recede...

Natsu pauses, thinking for a while.
"I suppose... You could say nothing is not wisdom, depending on your perspective," she says finally, though she clearly has no clue as to which answer the Mirumoto was searching for. "Or, from a different viewpoint, stupidity isn't wisdom, but even that could be disputed, I suppose..."
She shrugs, looking at the sensei. "Who do I pose a riddle to?" she asks.

It took a force of will not to burst into laughter when Reiha gave the dirtier answer to the riddle. Hey man, props to her for ACTUALLY saying it. Oh, but the Bayushi was definitely pleased with herself. She couldn’t hide that smug grin. This only meant that the Bayushi had mad respect for the Doji at this moment. They needed to hang out together later, most definitely. She winked at Doji Reiha and pursed her lips in a mock air kiss. Solid gold, that. The rest was, of course, expectantly boring. |

"If everything is wisdom, then how is nothing not wisdom. After all, isn't it part of everything?" came a soft voice from the back of the classroom, the petite figure having been hidden behind all of the other students the entire time. Asako Ryoko smiles warmly, eyes bright as she sits there attentively, having been in class the entire time!

Hisui almost laughs as the Asako fires off a question. Not quite how she intended the class to go the first time, but very much in keeping with the goal. She wanted this class to amuse as much as educate.
"Would you care to respond to Asako-san's question…Bayushi-san?"
Then she turns to the Tsuruchi. "It would seem you would be asking Asako-san your query, however."
