Perfect. It wasn't the exact question-to-answer she was hoping for, but she doubted the Phoenix would give a dirtier response.
Still, this one was up there. The kitten's got claws. And next for the ball to drop on would be none other than her favorite little newt, Tamori-kun. It's a dry answer, but maybe he can pose a clever question to pair up with it. What's everyone else going to do with this, she wondered? She'd love someone other than herself to take the opportunity to deliver a punchline to a joke, and all the more so if someone takes that punchline and follows through with an even cleverer question. If not this class tends to get boring. Too much thinking, not enough fun.
Maybe like the third years did back in her second year she could sneak in some good herbs before class. That was a GREAT session.

Yoshi stands as the Phoenix addresses him, thinking over the answered he'd been given for a good bit of time.
"The question is... from where did you get your linens?" he says, hoping that it was clever to pair a question one might ask expecting an answer of a shop of some kind, to an answer nothing of the kind. He turns to Sakura and says, "Mirumoto-san, your answer is, "I'm not the only one"."

Sakura ponders her response for a few moments, "So many questions could create that answer. I suppose, I would go with 'Are you alone?'"
She turns her attention to the Tsuruchi, "The answer is 'A cuddly fox kit.'"

While the train of questions and answers continues, Chiyo produces her little notebook from her backpack and begins to write into it. She's using one of her special gel pens for this one, the metallic green one, and the note paper has a cute stamp of a lucky cat on the corner of it. It was picked up from one of the strange boutiques on the fringes of town, where many gaijin products are sold. She had a special fondness for their attempts to appropriate different cultures. Rokugan does the same thing, but their attempts are a little too laughable. After she was done, she passes the note as discreetly as she can to Doji Reiha . Upon inspection, the note has the following message in cutesy writing. Below that was a phone number. |

Reiha blinks and looks over her shoulder at the Bayushi, giving her a grateful smile.
She's really not cross with me!
The Doji girl discretely fishes her phone out of her pocket and keeping it out of sight of the sensei sends Chiyo (well, the number on the note) a quick text.

Somewhere, somehow an instinct kicks in as he gives the question to her answer, compelling her to respond with a disappointed frown to her answer: "What is Shinsei?" Realizing what she'd just done, Ryoko blushes then sits down again... only to stand and apologetically bow to both Hisui and Yoshi before becoming seated again. |

Yoshi opens his mouth to protest to the Asako that everyone already knows that question, and he thought the teacher wanted them to be creative. However, he doesn't wish to interrupt Tsuruchi Natsu's turn at coming up with a question for Sakura's answer. He does nod, though, in acceptances of Ryoko's bow.

Natsu was also oblivious to anything from the Scorpion senpai, clearly still considering things on her own rather than noticing anything fishy going on. She furrows her brow, looking at Sakura. "What am I sharing my dorm room with?" she replies without much thought, looking around. "Uh... To... I'm sorry, I'm not sure who is left, but my answer is: A luxury sailboat. What is the question?" (Rolled a 17, doggone it.) |
