Reiha turns even more red at Chiyo's teasing and quickly turns back to her drawing. That girl is trouble! And nasty. Hmm. A few pencil strokes later 'Malevolent Moya', who terrorizes everyone her is born. The ghost of a smile reappears...

Oh, cute. Is Utaki-sensei trying to catch her off guard now?
She takes her eyes off Reiha and looks to Asako. Something something wisdom. Yeah, got it okay, here we go.
“That was a rhetorical question,” she says, after trying to remember the wording used by the Phoenix. “You’re asking me to identify the corner on a circle. Wisdom is a sip of water from a fountain of youth. It keeps one alive through experience and intuition. It’s an idea that becomes something only when put into practice.’

Ryoko just smiles, "But I thought Shinsei said I am the ladle and the Tao is the well. When you are not thirsty, is your mind on the ladle or the well?"

The Asako was going to make this class harder and easier than Hisui thought. She is almost thankful for the Dragon there to balance the Phoenix out.

Yoshi sits quietly, taking in all the varied exchanges, now waiting for the final riddle to be posed by the Tsruchi to the stealthy Asako who had appeared from the back of class. That is, if the Phoenix stop debating long enough for her to do so. However, though he was listening thoughtfully and politely throughout, a look of disapproval had crossed his face when Chiyo taunted the reserved Doji girl, as well as a look of sympathy to the latter because of it, though she might not have caught it as she turned to her drawing to stave off her embarrassment.

The Mirumoto tilts her head, listening to the exchange between the Scorpion and the Phoenix intently, clearly interested in how this will end.

"Who's to say where one's mind might dwell?" Chiyo responded without sounding nearly as exasperated as she felt. "People are complex. One can choose to ignore wisdom altogether. Some of those who have dared to do so, few mind you, often find that beyond the well and ladle there lies more. That is both their reward and punishment for choosing to focus on what lies beyond conventional wisdom."
She does tip her head to the side to signify that--"On the other hand, one is more likely to find themselves falling prey to their curiosity."

Natsu seems to think for a while, wracking her brain for something that sounds like a riddle.
Eventually, she turns to the Phoenix at the back: "Alright..." she says. "Where can one find the loudest of silence?"

As both questions came her way, Ryoko stopped to consider their words. First to Chiyo, the little Phoenix smiles and offers, "But isn't allowing one's mind to follow emotional impulse called "Compulsion"? And isn't that why they fall prey to their curiosity?"
Then to Natsu, Ryoko bows in greeting, "Wouldn't that be by the very nature of speaking, because he who speaks isn't wise?"

Thud.
Hisui makes a loud noise to get their attention. The game had gone on long enough, and she could tell the Asako would only prolong it. But she could adapt, adjust.
"Alright, I think we've gone around once for all of you. And a little extra, in Bayushi-san's and Asako-san's case."
She nods to both, as if the whole thing had been planned.
Then another silent nod, over to the Doji.
Last, she changes the words on the board. Gone is the quest to find an honest man. Instead, there is only one word short phrase: 'I am.'
"Whether or not any of you answered correctly to any questions is irrelevant," she says. "An enigma might be understood, but not known. Or known, but not understood."
"So, Doji-san, ask a question that can be answered by the words on the board. And then pose an answer for someone else to question."
