Isao kept up a strong front but the debate certainly conflicted with him; he understood compassion a great deal and the value of human life, but he knew a samurai had a duty to their lord that was more important than their personal beliefs. As he thought it through, as the debate went around, he wondered how he would really handle serving a known criminal lord.

The two had come full circle, bringing the argument back to the beginning.
"I never said the choice was easy. I have said that I agreed with Asako-san; kanshi is the right answer. However, I am opposed to it ideologically speaking as it would be a sacrifice that may very well be meaningless and certainly deprive my family of a vital resource. But you keep changing the argument opposed to really focusing on the matter. I really don't see a reason to continue debating with you over the matter; this circular discussion isn't really answering anything but reinforces what we already know.

Really? A circular argument? How utterly droll. You know how to take him down. All it takes is for you to have the conviction to Control the situation, to remind him of how easy it would be for both of your Honor to suffer. After all, isn't your loyalty supposed to be to the Empire first?
Ryoko just watches with piqued curiosity, unaware of the look Takezou gives Seijuro.

My my they are passionate aren't they. Otomo Katsumi rises from her seat. "Has it truly become a circular argument Kakita-San?" She shrugs her shoulders. "Alright you two may return to your seats. It is a difficult question because surely the tenets of Bushido seemingly contradict one another." She snaps her fingers. "Asako Ryoko-San and Shinjo Takezou-San I want you two to come to the front of the class if you would."

With a sigh of relief the Crane returns to his seat, looking a little harried once he steps out of the limelight and doesn't have to be the center of attention. He writes in his notebook, taking notes from the class and his thoughts on Bushido. Amidst writing he looked up, gave Mirumoto Sakura a slight nod, then resumed his work while the class continued. |

Sakura sits down, folding her hands and closing her eyes. She tries to recenter herself, but it seems the voice in her head won't let her be this class.
I didn't need to defeat him and to be anyone other than myself would be fruitless.

And what is it you want to be, Mirumoto-chan?
Ryoko comes up to the front of the classroom when instructed, offering a bow to Katsumi then one to Takezou as she waited for the Otomo's instruction.
