Izumi was also smiling, it was very satisfying to fight a skilled opponent. Getting a first hand look at Crane techniques she was sure to learn a lot win or lose. She knew that all fights ebb and flow so was watchful trying to keep up the offensive, knowing her own defence was one of her weaknesses. Izumi was smiling, he was smiling, and he knew then they were having a good idea. While kendo and iaido was very serious, he thoroughly enjoyed having the opportunity to spar with a Lion. He hoenstly hadn't fought an Akodo before so it was a real treat. Moreover, he knew he'd likely get to face her again which made him quite happy - there were a lot of swordsmen and swordswomen studying the martial arts at Rokugan High School. The sparring match continued, its natural ebb and flow turning once more towards him after it had washed away, back to her. Isao pressed his advantage as he began to moved against her, moving his hips as he blocked several of her shots with his practice sword before he lunged suddenly, going for an unexpected thrust. As the match continued Izumi's confidence grew and the blade increasingly felt like an extension of her arm. This was how she knew she was in good form as she enjoyed the ebb and flow of a really good match. She came close to breaking his guard a few times but each time he skillfully blocked before she could exploit the opening. Then his counter attack, she didn't think she could have blocked it if she had 4 arms and as many blades. She nodded her head in acknowledgement of his skill and technique, though she was naturally disappointed because of how competitive she was. Now he was a point from victory she tried to eke out every last ounce of effort and skill to get in a telling blow or two and show the skill and technique of the Akodo school. sparring: 7d10o10k3 22 |

Ichiro grinned "perhaps you are right, let us hope we never find out." As they vacate the sparring area Ichiro looks at Rhuya "You are extremely skilled, I'd be interested in training with you further. I feel like I could learn a lot from you." "Indeed. I rather enjoy living." She follows him out of the way, and gives him a nod. "Daidoji-san and I have a bit of an arrangement. If you'd like to join us sometimes, I don't see the harm in it." |

The match appeared to be in his favor. Isao blocked, his footwork allowing him to move out of the way of her attacks as he held his own. It was a fast paced and intense fight that was much closer than it appeared. Ultimately, however, he was able to land another telling strike, catching her at the hip as he moved towards her, intercepting the block and delivering the blow. Afterwards he wheeled around, grinning ear to ear. She was given a deep, respectful bow in recognition of being an honorable and skilled opponent. OOC: Agility/Kenjutsu 24 |

Izumi raised her hand to acknowledge the final strike. She loved winning but certainly wasn't going to shame her family by not acknowledging a better opponent. She bowed deeply and respectfully in recognition.
"Thank you for the spar, I look forward to future sessions" she said. She knew she had a lot to learn but she had improved even during this fight. With hard work she would best him and improve herself further.
