Tsuki glanced back at the prince with slight, wry smile. "I dare say I would would have grown a far quicker wit when it comes to snappy retorts. Shinsen certainly has kept his tongue as sharp as his lessons from my Father."
She looked at herself, and almost seemed to move her body as if to get a better look at her form. "Hmm, I might actually even look good with blade at my side."

Yoshinobu closes his eyes and nods at mention of Shinsen, and some of the memories he too had of the man.
"I do not doubt that you would, Lady Kakita. You would merely need come to court for one Winter, and I am certain you would win the hearts of many a samurai with both your blade and your presence alone. Why, were Nishikawa-sensei still the Imperial nakodo he may pass from stress due to all of the extra work," he jested.

"Oh dear, now if that were to happen just because I happened to be there, I might feel to guilty to properly find a possible suitor." She smiled again at their simple joking.
"Alas, I would likely have to turn them all down regardless. Technically, my hand has already been gifted to another, though it may be my sister's hand as well."

Yoshinobu's sudden shift and interest were not lost on Tsuki. Such an interest could be both good or bad, and were she her father, he would likely deflect. She did not.
"Our parents made an agreement long ago that the Lion Thunders first child was to be married to a child of the Crane and Mantis Thunder," Tsuki smiled lightly, "But it clear one cannot marry a man that does not exist."

The Crown Prince lets a few moments of silence hang between his response and Tsuki's answer.
"I... was not aware such an arrangement was made. Akodo Arasou-shiryo is in Yomi, that much is true, but you speak as if the agreement is still intact."

"He is, yes. Which means that the second part of the agreement stands, and that one of us is to marry a child of the Ikoma Daimyo," She smiled faintly, almost sadly, "Hence why I do speak as if the agreement stands."

Yoshinobu notices the hint of sadness, and chooses to let the matter stand at that. Much better to ignore that and transition elsewhere.
"And what of your younger siblings? Where did they train? One sister is far too much for me to handle."

"Them? Saito has taken up a bit here and there, and it seems he is just trying to settle on what he wants to do. Nariko though," Tsuki paused for a moment, "Well she has yet to really move any one direction. I think she doesn't know and, for now, is content to just work on her hobby of music."
The Kakita looked back to Yoshinobu. "What of your siblings. What do they plan to do?"

"How old are they again? I would think they would be coming up on high school age, but I will admit that my memory is hazy." At mention of his own siblings, Yoshinobu laughs at the memories of his sister, who he has not seen in at least a few months.
"Ah, Kazuko-hime. I think she wants to end up following in her brother's footsteps by coming here, but that is her choice to make. She is currently staying with our Aunt and Uncle in Crane lands, and learning the ways of the Doji Courtiers. Her gempukku is only months away, and I would be lying if I said I did not wish the day was closer so I could see her once more."
