Training robots.
They didn't have those back in Clear Water, Kobushi mused. He'd seen Mirumoto Ryuha use them, and he thought he'd give them a try. An opponent capable of fighting back was a better choice for practice than a wooden dummy. As he fiddled around with one to see if he just what he could get it to do and not do, he thought of texting her. He decided against it not long after. Text her later, set up a spar for tomorrow.
After some tweaking, so he could get it to do offensive and defensive kenjutsu maneuvers, he set the timer and took position.
Cracking his knuckles, he decided to attack first. After all, he was unlikely to actually break the robot.

"Nooooo!" Asurito cries out loud. The girl had just entered the dojo and paid her respects at the entrance, when she saw the young man.
"Fight me! Not the silly machine!" She adds.

The distraction causes Kobushi to turn his head, and he just barely manages to avoid a bokken to the head. He shuts the machine off, looking at this new arrival that almost caused him a serious bump on the head. But he decides not to hold it against her. She just wanted a sparring partner.
"Uhh, sure. If that's what you want..." A glance. "Miya-san. I'm Daidoji Kobushi."

The girl rushes into a bow. "Miya Asurito of the Heralds." She introduces herself. "This robot has no honor! It attacked you when you were not looking. Perhaps we should join forces and defend the Emperor's peace against the metal invaders!" She jokes. "Or this herald has a very bad timing. I distracted you. I am sorry." She bows again.

"No, no. It's alright!" he cries out, apologetic for making the girl apologize.
"I was looking for a moving opponent to practice on. Figured a robot would be okay since I couldn't find any people," he answers, somewhat sheepishly. "I don't suppose you'd be interested?"
"...that sounded less like a come-on in my head."

"Well, now you have found a moving opponent made of flesh! You don't suppose that a courtier would be interested. Did you mean that? Well, I am!" It is obvious that everything is said in a playful way and mood. "Show me your stance, Daidoji san!" The girl says and walks into the ring.

He laughs, amused at this Miya's antics.
He lets her step in while he shifts into his stance. Aggressive, stable, and probably built for someone with much more bulk. Then again, he could just be hiding some hard muscle underneath the training attire. Probably not, but it isn't impossible.
"Ready when you are."
((You want to RP this or dice? I'm okay either way.))

"I was born ready!" she exclaims and shifts into a more versatile and fluid stance. For a moment she seems as if she is going to wait for the boy's attack, but in the very next second, Asurito moves to his right and attempts to grapple his waist while trying to place her left foot on the back of his right knee.

A takedown?
He hadn't quite expected that. The surprise lets the Miya catch him off-guard. The left foot presses on his knee and it costs him his vertical base, but he retaliates by attempting to elbow his sparring partner in the forehead. He guesses she's faster than he is, but her form suggests he's not quite as adept at the finer aspects. He'd need to rely on raw force, he concludes.
If I can stay on my feet.

Asurito struggles for a few moments, but throwing the Daidoji on the tatami mat seems like a very far chance. The boy is strong, perhaps even stronger than the Akodo she faced the other day, but maybe if she proves to be faster...
The herald abandons her previous attempt and presses her left foot on the ground trying to shift her weight so as to surprise him again. Instead, he manages to do so simply by moving his elbow. He has both the technique and the strength. The herald is in a quite difficult position and she knows it.
