"No, sounds about right."
He leaves her to the weights and sets up a machine nearby. One meant to work chest and back muscles. He speaks as he makes adjustments.
"Yeah, I'm a first year," he says. He remembers something, and it looks uncomfortable. "Wait, did I just try to punch out another senpai?"

The Miya laughs for a moment. "I'm a third year, but no worries. This senpai doesn't care. Who was the previous one you punched?"

"Same as her. On both counts," he comments. Then he remembers to answer the question. "Ah, it was Mirumoto Ryuha-senpai."
He tests the machine, made sure he got everything right.

"Mirumoto Ryuha?" The girl thinks for a moment. "I don't think that we have ever spoken, but I should seek her out if she is into jiujitsu."
She continues her exercises while speaking. "I assume that you will be joining the jiujitsu club. Anywhere else I might run into you? I'll be joining cycling and for a third option I'm still on a debate with myself between students for peace and a random sport club. Probably soccer. Or roller derby. I practiced for the first time today and I was hilariously awful at it. It is a challenge."

"Actually, she was in a defensive stance with a bokken the entire time. Told me to come after her with my best, so…" He begins to chuckle a little nervously. "In my defense, I missed."
"And jiujitsu club for a start. Maybe one for ceramics if it exists. And my father insists I do something about my manners, so anything related to that is priority," he answers as he begins working out. Breathe in, breathe out. "Derby, huh? Met a girl recently who was into that. Not much of a skater, but I'd think about it if I was."

"Yes, parents... They keep intensely suggesting things even after our gempuku. Times have changed..." She only comments.
"If you are worried that there will be no ceramics club, you can always ask permission to set a booth on Monday and try to find members. I have been doing it for the past two years with cycling. This will be the semester that I will manage to have the club created. My hopes are up."

"I might, but I'm not exactly the most well-spoken Crane in the world." Actually, I'm pretty sure I'm the worst. "And as long as I can use the kiln, I can practice."
He continues his routine.
"And I know how that feels. Some of my father's meddling I welcome, some of it I don't."

"Yes, the same goes for me and my mother. If you exclude any part of it being welcome." The Miya smirks. "Well spoken or not, you'll do fine if you try hard enough. Plus, you seem eloquent enough to me."

"That's nice of you to say. Maybe I'll think the idea over," he says, smiling as he continues to work.
"Meddling parents. Ever wonder if they stop to think maybe letting us figure things out ourselves is a good idea?"

"I wonder about a lot of things when it comes to my parents, but I am quite sure that they do the same about me." A small shrug there. "To be honest though, they are probably right. My priorities are not what they should be."
