Seijuro goes back to center after the Crane lands his hit, waiting for the moment to begin anew. He adopts a different tactic this time, utilizing quick but heavy thrusts that would be difficult to parry. (36 - orokos.com/roll/590841)

Noboru rose slowly as he turned to Mirumoto Ryuha . He'd caught a bit of her conversation with Ichiro and shrugged as he entered the mats to take his stance against his 'cousin'. "Really? And here I thought they simply nominated the student that wins the tournament. Though I guess I wouldn't know since I've yet to join a single club." With that he bowed to Ryuha. "I look forward to testing myself against you, "cousin"." "Just stating the obvious, cousin," Ryuha retorts, not the only Dragon to favor a single sword style. Still, the stance is different enough from Noburu's own. She watches for a moment, before beggining her series of strikes, meant to test Noboru's capabilities more than outright score a hit. Noboru, despite having watched Ryuha only moments ago, wasn't prepared for her to actually fight using a single sword that didn't incorporate the techniques of his own training. She easily scored a hit against him, the Mirumoto somewhat surprised by this. ( Oh, how dice bots hate me. 21)

The Dragon girl slides back to center, waiting for Noboru to rebalance again before she begins the next flurry of wooden sword swings. This time, she is a lot less accurate, her moves much more obvious. (23 - orokos.com/roll/590862)

Noboru stopped to focus himself, studying Ryuha's movements carefully before sidestepping her flurry of blows as he landed a controlled strike to her side. He nodded to Ryuha, pausing to look into her blue eyes as he returned to center. "You're better than that," he offered tone stern though he intended no insult. "Something is holding you back." Open yourself to me. Show me what you're capable of.

Ryuha choose not to respond to his words. He was right anyways, and besides - action spoke much louder. This time her attacks come faster, from multiple angels, a swift series of strikes in a matter of moments. (34 - orokos.com/roll/590877)

The flurry of action was met in kind as Noboru's bokken clacked repeatedly against Ryuha's, narrowly deflecting blow after blow before finally reaching in to tap lightly at her heart. He knew how quickly that strike could have gone the other way if he had been even a hair slower, but this only caused Noboru to smile a little as he seemed to be enjoying the challenge. ( 35)

Apparently fate was just not hers today. After another re-centering, Ryuha wastes no time going after Noboru once more. For whatever reason, her focus was just not as strong as it was against her Akodo opponent, the attacks slower after a class's worth of matches. Ryuha's apparent loss of focus caused Noboru to let up, seeing it as a resignation of defeat on her part. It was at the last moment he realized his error and he tried to correct it, but was just a hair too late as she struck him in the shoulder. The match was now even, the victor up to the Fortunes. This was far from the level of skill Ryuha demanded of herself. She knew she was better than that. Why was her footwork failing her? He arms moving so slowly? Noboru was far too skilled to let such a sloppy attack score. Panting, she makes perhaps one of the sloppiest displays of swordsmanship she has attempted since she enrolled here, one heavy overhead swing of frustration. (15 - orokos.com/roll/590893)
